Default First Workshop - Help!

I just signed up to be a Demo with SU and I am super excited! Yesterday my kit arrived with all my wonderful goodies and I can't wait to watch my new demo DVD. In the meantime, I am constantly thinking of ideas for my first workshop. I am hoping to start some kind of group that meets each month to learn new techniques, aiming for the beginners here. I have 4 different Christmas/winter related stamp sets and I was hoping to incorporate the Christmas/winter theme into my first workshop somehow. It needs to be a simple class but I really want them to be wowed like I was when my upline first demo'd to me. Any specific ideas? Any specif techniques that aren't too intimidating for beginners that would work for this crowd?

p.s. I have sent in my request to admin to join the demo section of SCS too!

Search the gallery for "Christmas" and if you go to the resources section you will find lots of simple techniques for beginners. This is the best site for ideas and inspiration. Good luck with your first workshop.

Ditto what tesno said......

If your upline wow'ed you when she first demo'ed to you....why not copy one of those projects....?? That's what I did.

And good luck, good luck, good luck....

2 way glue + stampin' glitter is a super easy wow and perfect for Christmas cards. Also glitter window with packing tape or clear contac shelf liner. Poppin' pastels is another WOW technique but easy -- great for beginners (that one would be great with a snowflake themed card). Watercoloring with blender pens and inks from your ink pad lids is also fun and easy.

One of the things that had a real WOW factor for me was embossing. It's not hard to do, but it is so cool to watch. Just an idea.

You might find some good ideas on that DVD, too. I'm sure the video has changed since I signed up, but I know I used one of the non-card projects they showed in my first couple of workshops.
