Default Scrapbookers wanted

Hey I just found this great organization that I know we all could do something for. Check out operationscrapbook.org

It is a wonderful site that takes our unwanted supplies and makes scrapbooks for foster children. They often don't have any memories of childhood because they bounce around a lot. This way the foster families have to make pages or add pictures to pre made pages. Anyway I thought it was a wonderful idea. I saw a post about it on the SU demo forum so I can't take the credit for really finding out about it. I just wanted to pass this along to all of you.

What a WONDERFUL Program!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am one of those people who just hates to get rid of stuff and even setting a box out a work and letting others scavange upsets me sometimes, but this this is something I can totally get behind and actually feel really good about cleaning out my scrapbook stash which is HUGE and giving it to this organization!!!!! I have been needing to do this and now I have inspiration! Being an adopted kid myself this really strikes a cord with me!

Awesome thing! I have some stuff that I bought a few years ago that I don't like today. No way I can throw it out. I even save the envelopes that I receive when I buy paper online so I have a safe way to mail it.

I am glad to see some of you are interested. I let my local scrapbook store know about it and she is running with it. She has a box in the store and if you donate more than 35 pieces of paper she'll give you a 40% off coupon! Maybe some of your local stores would be interested too. Give them a call or drop an email. The best part is she is doing the shipping so no hasseling with going to the Post Office. Plus I know I will have to replace some paper while I am in the store. :0. Thank in advance to all who donate.

So how do you go about mailing the supplies? Do you just mail to the address listed online? I made a bunch of premade 12 x 12 pages for a craft fair to sell. I have plenty left over I can donate!
