Default glass stamp storage?

Does anyone use glass to store their stamps? I have been toying with the idea of cutting 1/8th inch glass into 8x10" pieces, grinding the edges so they are safe, and storing my UM stamps on them (kinda like the plexiglass sheets I have seen on here recently).
Any suggestions, advice, or comments?
Thanks,
Connie

Glass brakes so easy...I would rather do the plexiglass for safety reasons...

Have you looked at the acrylic picture frames at Michaels. I turn them upside down and use them as drawers. A friend's brother made two cabinets for me that I can slide these picture frames in and out easily and take the whole tray out if I want. This idea has been around for many years and has worked well for me.

No, sorry the idea of glass scares me. I have too many little grandchildren who visit.

I keep my clear and unmounted stamps on plastic-like notebook page dividers with tabs in a large 3-ring binder.

The little $1 stamps are kept in those baseball trading card sleeves in the same binder.

Well, I have about 8 pieces of glass cut, grinded (?)or ground, and have placed my stamps on them. Then I put the whole thing into a page protector to keep stamps from getting lost if they fall off the glass.
I don't have any small children around and I work in a room that is carpeted so I think I will be OK with the glass. I like the idea of being able to see my stamps through the glass. Perhaps plexiglass would be better, but I happened to have this glass at home and I have the grinder as well, so I thought I would try it out. I'll let you all know if this is , indeed, an accident in the making.
Have a great day and thanks for your thoughts.

If it works for you, than it sounds like a plan. It doesn't seem like the best choice to me though. Make it work if you believe in it.

I agree with Karen. Another consideration is that Plexiglass comes in different thicknesses so, as your stamp collection grows, it might give you more storage in less space by using a thinner Plexiglass. Of course, I'm partial to Plexi because I make jewelry with it. The basic idea is very cool and I'll think about it for my storage which needs to be rehauled.
