Default Roses in Winter help please

I love Roses in Winter. HOWEVER, I can't get my images to be WOW! I have seen some amazing samples of Roses but when I go to do them myself, it's just blah....why?
Tips?

What in particular seems to be the problem? Colour? Alignment?

If it's alignment, try using the Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the stamps for each layer. Saves a lot of headache and wasted paper.

For colour, use shades with enough degrees of darkness between them so the contrast shows up between layers. For example, using a ruby red and a baroque burgundy might not give enough contrast, but using a pretty in pink and a pink passion might.

Think how you'd arrange a live floral arrangement, visualizing a triangle in placement, then apply that to your card.

Anyone else with suggestions?

I have found that masking is the secret with this set. I also tend to use the same color stamp pad for all three layers of the rose, just double, single stamping off, and full blast for each subsequent layer. Hope this helps. I love this set. Did you see the beautiful card in today's gallery using this set? You have to go look at it. It's gorgeous.
Happy Stamping!
