Question A question about CASE-ing...

Howdy all,

I'm sure this has probably been discussed many times over, but I realy just wanted to ask a few question regarding CASE-ing, simply because I honestly don't know what the proper etiquette is.

The reason for my question is that I am currently finishing up some recipe cards for a swap and have been stumped for a super-cute embellishment to complete them. Through the power of searching the internet for about an hour, (I'm easily distracted, haha!) I found the cutest little punch art on a fellow stamper's blog. I have always been under the impression that as long as you give proper credit for where you found the idea, it is perfectly fine to use it. Am I correct?

Which brings me to some more questions...
-I was going to share a photo of the recipe swap on my blog and maybe here on SCS. I planned to give a shout out to the creator of the punch art along with the link to her blog. (with the tutorial she shared) I would never say that an idea was mine if it wasn't. But is that the right way to do it???
-How do YOU honestly feel when someone CASE's YOUR work? If they share your name/link, etc, are you ok with it?

I'm sorry if these questions seem a little silly but I genuinely want to make sure that if I use the idea, I don't unintentionally offend someone. I've only been blogging for about 6 months now, so I'm not an expert at this whole thing. Lol!

Any feedback you have is appreciated. Thanks so much and I hope you are enjoying your day today!

I love it when someone CASEs me, as long as they give me credit! It is especially nice if they give a link, too. I post my stuff hoping that other people will like it, so if they CASE it then I know they did!

I feel the same way as Trina! As long as you give credit where credit is due... you should be fine! You could email this person who's idea you love and ask her how she feels about using her handmade embellishment and how she would like for you to properly CASE her! If she has a blog, she will probablly be honored that you would use her work as inspiration! That's part of the reason we post!! Hope that helps!!~

I think what you are planning Anne Marie is just the perfect way to acknowledge the idea of the fellow blogger.

Thanks, ladies! I just wanted some reassurance to make sure I was on the right track. I know that is why we all share ideas and post tutorials (etc..) but I always want to give recognition for great ideas.

Along the same idea with Casing.
If you case an idea on a card you're going to be mailing out should we acknowledge our case in some way?
