Splitcoaststampers.com - the world's #1 papercrafting community
You're currently viewing Splitcoaststampers as a GUEST. We pride ourselves on being great hosts, but guests have limited access to some of our incredible artwork, our lively forums and other super cool features of the site! You can join our incredible papercrafting community at NO COST. So what are you waiting for?
First there was SplitCoast- and almost anything you wanted to know/see/etc was here. Then there was Papercraft Planet, then Paper Therapy, now StampTV.
Is it me or is all this just too much?
I find that I just do NOT have the time to even bother checking all these places let alone actually participate.
I am loving Papercraft Planet and Stamp TV, especially since there are videos uploaded on their sites (as well as being able to upload your own videos). It is especially nice to see some other companies featured on the other sites, and also to check the galleries.
Both of the above sites also allow you to have your own mini pages which I really love as well.
Instead of just surfing here I divide my time and enjoy the smaller communities over at the other sites, as well as love being here.

Of course anything stamping and socializing all in one place sounds wonderful but I don't have enough time and I find everything I'm looking for in a message board (and then some darn enablers) here at SCS. I can understand wanting to check out the variety of other featured companies but I don't think my wallet could handle any more enabling and I have a whole slew of on-line stores to choose from in my "favorites" toolbar so I'm good here. ;)

I'm with the majority here. I don't have time to be everywhere and SCS is where I choose to be. I'm sure the other sites are great but there aren't enough hours in a day as it is.
If I get on to any more sites I will have to go find some ultra caffeine so I can stay up all night to surf. Just this morning I decided I have to cut down my time here on SCS so I can do something else!!
Also belong to site's that are from TAC demo's only.
Awhile back I join PT. Paper Therapy,....But that only last alittle while. For some reason I got kicked off the sight...To this day I stll don't know why.
I know I took a bath that day.
Yes there are ton's of Groups out there for us to join. But like I stated before I mainly come here and PCS.
I used to only come to Splitcoaststampers, but when the site was bought, I felt the quality and depth of the site diminished. I joined Stamp Tv--it's free and I enjoy watching the videos. Gina has had several free digital downloads of paper that have been absolutely fantastic
For websurfing and stamping ideas I do prefer SCS but I will admit I did like SCS a bit better when it was mainly SU. It is not because I do not like the other companies I just get overwhelmed with all the choices and enabling.

I'm with those loyal to SCS, kinda by default. I'm a member at PCP, but truthfully I don't have the time to learn to navigate the other site. Maybe someday, but in the meantime, between SCS, stamping and life, I'm kinda busy enough!
I went to Papercraft Planet shortly after it started up but the site is not intuitive to me. I will probably check out StampTV when I have a need for a video tutorial but not on a regular basis.
I am preferring visiting the forums within store sites and subscribing to a few blogs and newsletters that I know interest me. Still enjoying SCS ~ such a wonderful resource and a great community.
I, too, am overwhelmed by what's out there to check out. I have time to check here and there every once in a while, but certainly not every day. I'd rather play with my stamps than sit on the computer and roam around. It seems a bit too much for anyone, I think.
As long as I have freedom of choice I don't allow an abundance of sites to overwhelm me. I have complete control over what site I want to spend time on. Same thing goes for product. I got suckered in big time by all the enabling when I first came here but it didn't take me long to figure things out. Almost everyone is trying to sell something. If you see a set of stamps you like you're going to need at least three punches to get the effects that the tutorials have. Sooner or later you just have to say enough already!
I give myself one hour surfing!! It is here, papercraft, and Gina K stamp tv. I just watch her videos when they come out once a week, and it is very informative, you think you were doing things right until you watch her . Im hooked .

i joined papercraft planet when it first started up, but it was so slow, and the forums WERE very unorganized and people chatted about NOTHING.. (hehe.. i like stamp-related chat) and i have never really gone back..
i find it interesting that a lot of design team calls REQUIRE you to upload both here (which i can understand) AND on PCP... there is no way i'd upload to my blog, upload here, upload there, then chat in the forums in both places... too much work and i won't do it! i'll stick with my "roots" and stay here... i'm a lifer.

Oh I totally agree with you.
SCS is always going to be my no.1 - in my eyes
ETA:Has anyone else noticed that PCP, Stamp TV and Paper Therapy are all ning sites. Same thing, but different groups and things. I quite like stamp TV for the vids though

Oh...this site is the only site I'd even consider calling home as far as stamping is concerned. Google a question about stamping and see how many urls lead you here. SCS is THE BEST stamping resource site ever. If you need cricut help you need to go to the cricut message boards, though. Two different sports...two different ball parks.

Thanks so much! Hey, there's no right or wrong, just different. LOL! Thanks for the kind words.

Thank you! I can't wait to see what you make with those freebies!

Is your user name the same at PCP and stampTV? I want to go check out your pages.

Originally I was going to post, I only have surf time for SCS. BUT....... I hadn't heard of stamp TV and HAD TO check it out. It's now on my list of favorites
This site is:
User friendly
Well organized. I can easily find what I want to look at quickly
Beautiful artwork
Great tips and tutorials
I LOVE the different groups by states, so you can find stampers near you.
So I will increase my surf time and decrease my housework time. Yea, that's the ticket!

I will always check out what is here, but Stamp TV is fabulous! Did you know that when you participate in a challenge there you have an opportunity to win a free stamp set! Who dosen't LOVE free rubber? Gina K is also fabulous at making very informative videos. Who wouldn't want step by step visual instructions on how to do a technique you have been wondering about? For visual learners it is the best site bar none. Also it is FREE!!!

I hang out here and that's pretty much it. However, I'm loving Gina's Stamp TV and will even saunter over to PCP every now and then. I'm trying to open up and un-box myself but like many others, time is a serious issue.
I absolutely ADORE Stamptv!!! To be honest, in my opinion, it is less intimidating than SCS too. Not that I don't like SCS, because I sure do, but I had a very difficult time (initially) navigating the site...maybe, it's just me...which is VERY possible!
As far as time goes, I LOVE this new choice we have with Stamptv....For example, right now I have my 14 mo. old grandson, which SEVERELY LIMITS my crafting time...Yet, I'm able to stamp "vicariously" through StampTV and enjoy Gina's videos and more...YIPEE, it's a win-win for me...
I stay here but will check something out on another site when mentioned on here. I have many blogs that I visit on a regular basis daily to get ideas as well. I need to spend more time crafting than surfing.
For those of you who have a difficult time making it to all of the blogs try google reader. It may not look as pretty as all of the blogs, but it gives you the information (pictures and videos) and lets you know when they are updated. So you dont spend time going from blog to blog only to find that 2 of them updated.
I used to be on craftster.org all of the time (still am). They are more DIY than stamping, but they do have a ton of awesome people who are quite helpful, and the forums are very well organized. I used to think that I would only be on there but when they had name media take over I heard about this place. I am glad I decided to check it out. One thing I do wish that you could do here is to put your pictures in your posts. I know you can add thumbnail links to your gallery but I prefer to see the picture with the text. It still wont keep me away though
Now for those other sites... I will have to check them out.
Oh my goodness...I did not even realize that these other sites existed....If I join them too I will never get to stamp...lol....I am quite happy here so I think I will just stick with SCS. Blessings.
That's ok, but personally, I think StampTv is worth the time to take a look.Plus,it's very easy to navigate the site too. There are fun things in the works too--- like an on-line magazine and more. I did her woodgraining technique which turned out--just like Gina showed us on her video. It was a blast! Plus, just by up-loading my card there, I get entered into the current challenge to win a free stamp set. This site is simply absolutely TERRIFIC, in my opinion!!!!

Hi Amber,
You can put your pictures in your posts here. Here's a card I made last week! Click the little box with the mountain and add the link to where the card is posted, whether it be your blog, gallery or photobucket.
Hugs,
Gina K.

The first cardmaking forum I joined is FAL or Form-A-Lines. There are some very kind ladies and a gent there and I enjoy the smallness of it. I've been a member there since 12/2007. Then, I went to a local crafting garage sale and was told about SCS. I've been a member here since april/2008 and I love it. I've learned so much! Then, I found PCP through an invite. Sure, I found it a bit confusing at first and didn't visit very often. Recently, I have gone back though b/c Stamp TV and Card Universe are all NING accounts. I LOVE LOVE LOVE all of these forums. I really do. I've been meeting a lot of nice ppl. and for me? it just affords me a greater opportunity to be "discovered" so-to-speak. In addition, each site offers different learning tools, videos, forums, etc. I don't have cable TV so, my soul entertainment is the internet. I find the time b/c 1. I don't have any children. 2. I enjoy this craft immensely and want to learn as much as I can. and 3. I have a wonderful, loving boyfriend that understands my obsession with this awesome hobby as well....LOL
I have to reiterate too about Gina K.s videos. Awesome...clear, precise, great picture and sound quality. Makes me want to keep coming back. So, a big shout out to gina to say thanks! and thankyou to all the wonderful ppl. that helps keep all of these wonderful forums and websites up and running.
I love Stamp TV! Especially because it has given me a new stamping buddy, my 17 yo dd. She can watch Gina's videos and try it herself. She has her own account there and acutally won a stamp set for doing one of the challenges! (I was jealous...)
Here on SCS I'm in the FlyBaby forum and check out the challenges on occasion because they encourage me to stamp more. I upload cards to both my gallery here and my blog a number of times a week, however, for inspiration I mostly check out my Google Reader full of blogs rather than the gallery here.
PCP is very confusing to me. I'm in one group there and that will probably be all I join.
It is very hard to not be overwhelmed with all the choices out there nowadays. I'm enjoying the accountability of the Stamp to Spend group here on SCS. I'm only a few $$ in the hole for the year, but I have an SU club order to pay for this week, so I need to get stamping!
