I am going to be somewhat in the area of Hagerstown, MD next weekend and thought I would visit te Berwick Offray Outlet. Has anyone been lately? If so, is it worth the trip? Thanks in advance for your reply.
Emily
I used to go all the time. Went a little while ago....was really disappointed, they didn't have much selection. No bolts of ribbon fabric and it looked like they were winding down. I managed to get a bad of package bows, some curling ribbon and found after much digging some velvet ribbon by the spool. Truly, I'm not sure they even still have the outlet at the factory anymore...
It's been about a year since I was there, but it was fabulous, I got SO much ribbon and only spent like $20. Sounds like from AkhJustice that perhaps it's not as great anymore. I got tons of bolts when I went. I'm sad to hear they may be winding down. The one I went to was the outlet attached to the factory itself.
could you post how it is. I might be heading that way sometime in the near future and would drop in if it is still worth it (because I need more ribbon like I need...)
Winding down may mean they have sold out of holiday ribbon. They usually have plenty to pick from. My neighbor works there and she's always telling me what's in store. They'll even make bows for you. The small reels can be bought by the bag full for one price, like 1.00 or 1.25 a bag when they run specials. If you get their emails, they send coupons too.
I was there about a year ago. I loved it. It had more to choose from than I imagined to have. I had a great time, and bought tons of ribbon. Let us know how it is now.
Well, I decided to go and see for myself. I was like a kid in a candy shop. I spent about $40 and have an unbelievable amount of ribbon in various sizes, material, colors, etc. MANY rolls of the 10 yd per spool ribbons were 10 for a dollar and the most expensive roll I purchased was $2 so that gives you an idea of how many rolls I purchased. I will certainly plan on going back next time I am in the area and would encourage anyone that is anywhere in the general vicinity to stop by.
