Yes, really and truly! The new SU! Catalog comes out in less than a month.
New in-color comparisons are popping up all over. Here's what I see...until I have paper in hand and will be more accurate. Those of you who miss older colors, or want a new re-inker close to old colors will love this collection.
Polished Pink Closest match is to Positively Pink. It's darker, not quite so "in your face". Many pinks, both retired and current, work pretty well with it.
Pale Papaya Close to Apricot Appeal, but not quite as orange. Lighter than Peekaboo Peach or Peach Parfait. Will reserve my thoughts on which is closest.
Fresh Freesia Closest match is Pale Plum. It's really close. But Fresh Freesia is much clearer color, not grayed.
Soft Succulent Closest match is Sage Shadow, but is a bit darker. Both of these are a little bit grayed.
Evening Evergreen Really really close to Handsome Hunter. It might even match some of the different batches of Hunter. Definitely on the blue side and has a tad bit of graying to it.
Thanks Diane. Can't wait until you get your hands on some of the papers to see how you feel about them up close and personal. I make notes on your comparisons and keep them from year to year......has saved me from buying a "new" color when an older one that I still have will do the job just as well. Keep up the good work.......
Interesting that you compare the Freesia to Pale Plum. I just watched a video of my demo showing all the new colors ( no comparisons) and my first thought was it looked close to the old Orchid Opulence. But that could just be the way it looks on my iPad. Thanks for the information!
Here's a photo comparison.
There's no question in my mind that Freesia will look wonderful with the Orchid Opulence. But Orchid is so much darker. Freesia and Pale Plum are close in color.
Papers in hand. Evaluated with colorimeter...and with my eyes!
Here's my evaluation.
You will be happy if you want new re-inkers to ink older stamp pads! Every paper in this year's In Color collection is very close to previous colors.
Pale Papaya. Almost identical to Apricot Appeal. Color is not as saturated as the Apricot, and may be a smidgen more grayed. Still a relatively clear color. Soft Succulent. Very close to Sage Shadow. Is a bit more blue. Evening Evergreen. If you liked Handsome Hunter, you'll be happy with this. Almost identical colors. Fresh Freesia. Love this color. Very much like Pale Plum but much clearer color, not as grayed out as the Plum and more saturated color. Polished Pink. A bright pink in between Pink Passion and Positively Pink. Same saturation of color, but less blue than Pink Passion and less yellow than Positively Pink.
Speaking of InColors, I'm betting that Magenta Madness from the 2020-2022 InColors will replace Melon Mambo with the next color revamp. Melon Mambo has been around a long time.
Quite a while ago, I put half of my nearly 120 color collection in a box to sell. (Still haven't done it.)
But I saved handsome hunter, sage shadow, and apricot appeal. I am thrilled that they will go well with any new dsp. I didn't save pale plum, but I did save orchid opulence.
Now if we could just get something like summer sun back in the lineup. I really don't like crushed curry. 😂

Summer Sun was a most gorgeous yellow, Kim! All my ink pads are still in my craft space and in use, so I get a truly crafty girl thrill when I realize a new In Color matches close enough with a retired ink color. It means that retired color will see some new love!
