I'm trying to get organized (finally) and I was wondering how other ladies store their non-SU stamps. I have lots. I do like them and not ready to give them away, but I have them in bins and can never find the one I want when I want it. I need some advice.
I bought a few sets of the small, medium and large storage boxes that we sell at the back of the catalog. I condensed some SU! sets that easliy fit in the next smallest size box (Warmest Regards, Riveting, So Very, Think Big, ect...) , and then save the X-Large and Jumbo boxes for my non-SU stamps.
I labeled them by type. I have catagories like: Birthday, Girly Stamps (purses, martini glass ect...), Bugs, Backgrounds, Flowers, Seasons, Holidays ect....
All of these boxes are labeled Non-SU! also on them, and have their own stack on my shelves.

I make sure they are labled NON-SU and they sit in a different place

I only have one and have never used it.
Ok, i'm picturing this poor lonely little stamp... shivering, sobbing, wondering what it did to deserve being placed in solitary confinement in a sensory deprivation case!!! At least let it sit out with the others so it doesn't feel so sad! ;)
Someone made me a decorated paint can for a baby shower gift. I had a bunch of baby items inside. For my single stamps I put them in there. My bella I am keeping in the baggies they came in.
I love stamps and do not consider myself a SU snob, so I buy from many companies. I store all my non SU stamps in the plastic clamshell cases you can buy from SU. I bought the largest you can get and keep them in there according to stamp company, i.e. all my Penny Blacks together, all my Hero Arts, all my Stampendous, all my A muse, etc. I label each box as to the stamp company that is in it. It has worked ok so far, but I am considering rearranging them by categories now. Like all flowers together etc. I'm afraid to even consider how much money I have invested in these stamps plus the over 300 stamps sets I have of SU.

Live in the moment and make it so beautiful it's worth remembering.
I've thinned my non-su collection out a bit but I still have a bunch. I picked up an Iris cart w/ only thin drawers... I can't remember if there are 6 or 8 drawers (at work now... working hard as you can see) I think there are 8. I have a few that don't fit but not many. One is a bq that is "on display" b/c DD gave it to me for Cmas a few years ago. One is a large cube with an image on 4 sides and I have a couple of the containers of small Hero Arts mini stamps. All those are on a shelf.
I've got many SU stamp sets, but more of other company's. I store them in pizza boxes, marked by : wedding, love, valentine; food; animals; butterflies and birds; lighthouses and shells; christmas, feminine, scenery. They cost about 40 cents at the pizza place. I used the medium size. They stack easily, and are just the right size. I can find any stamp in a minute. Eileen

I am w/you - I am not an SU snob either, I buy from companies that I want to buy from. I use the clamshell cases too, but I categorize them by similarity (flowers, kitties, etc.). I do love SU, but I love so many other companies too!
What I found that I LOVE are the clear 12 x 12 paper storage cases at Michael's. They hold quite a number of stamps (I think 94 M's $1 stamps) and are clear so I can see through the case. I place the first row face down (rubber up) then the second row face up so I can just flip the case over to see what stamps are on each side. I find that the case is just deep enough that the stamps don't tumble around when I flip it over. The lip on the lid keeps the bottom row from sliding all over when I open it ''upside down''. I have attached pics of one case so you can see... if this interests you at all. These have worked great for me!
I have a ton from before I discovered SU. It was hard to wean myself away from these old friends, but like you I had banished them into a large storage bin. I finally took it to the lake about two years ago, with cheap cardstock and non-SU ink pads. They are there when I need them, and meanwhile the kiddos can enjoy them. My SIL lives there - I have yet to receive a handmade card from her (LOL).

tee, hee, hee!
Got a visual of a sad, shivering stamp!
You know those semi-transparent paper storage boxes? I put them in the thick ones. I used to store them on shelves made out of 1 inch molding (the little shelf was only as deep as a stamp) all along my walls.

I just want to add that I looked at the office depot site and yikes! I got mine at an Asian everything shop for $3 each. (like a dollar store)
Yep...I just counted...I have 57 cases!!! When I first started buying them they were only 4.39...they have gone up!!! probably because of me!!!! But I have them on shelves standing side by side and labeled on the side..even my SU cases are in these...saves alot of space...I love mine....i buy like 4 at the time to get the price break...I buy locally so I don't pay S/H.
I have 3 shoe box sized plastic containers (with attached lids) that I store them in: one for words/sayings, one for holidays, and one for misc. They stack up nice and neat.
Like many othets who have posted, I also bought extra SU boxes and store all my stamps in them. I printed large type black and white labels and put them on all the cases, including the SU stamps, so I can find what I want pretty easily.
I bought 22 16x20 acrylic box frames from M's, and put my stamps in these. They are deep enough for one layer of stamps. Then I built a cabinet and each one of these frames is on a shelf and labeled on the front "flowers", "words", "Christmas", etc. Love it, but I need to build another- I'm completely full!!
I have one of those rolling multi-drawer chests and they are in there by theme. I honestly don't hardly ever use them so I did recently go through and donated a box full to the local senior center. Boy were they thrilled!!
because I started with CTMH I started putting them in CD cases on a rak. I also have unmounted that woodies I had and started storing them in CD cases too.

My dad built me some awesome craft store-style shelves for my birthday last year. Hmm, my birthday's coming up in a week or two, and it seems that I've outgrown my shelves. Mom hinted that my present is too big to ship. Could more be headed my way???? ;)
As my stamping/scrapbooking stuff is in the basement, I have 2 of those clear cabinets with 7 drawers each from Wal-Mart at $29.95 Canadian plus tax of 14%. The top drawers are quite shallow, enough for 2 layers of boxes on top of each other, the middle drawers are a bit deeper and hold 3 layers of boxes and the bottom ones are deeper and I have the larger boxes in there with, mostly, the letter and number stamps.
They are all the in the SU boxes plus the extra stamps I have bought here and there and everywhere which fit in a lot of the boxes and I try to keep the same theme but of course it depends on the space left and the size of the extra stamps too. So far, it works for me.
The cabinets are about chest high and on top are my punches and such.
