The new catalogs are rolling out...

The new catalogs are rolling out. What would the stamp set of your dreams be?
I would love to see Stampin Up do an updated version of Love Bakes complete with little packages of baking ingredients and an updated stove and hutch.

pjw3362004 12-28-2008 12:32 AM

I would love to see more male themed stamp sets. They are so hard to find.

meluvstampin 12-28-2008 05:34 AM

I would LOVE a SKATEBOARDING set. a Nice one with rail and ramps. Kind of like TAC had in their catty some years ago.

I also agree on the more masculine sets.

LeisaJane 12-28-2008 06:43 AM

I would love to see more Thanksgiving stamp sets. I also would like to see more of the sentiment stamps that say 'Get Well' or something like that. I send more get well cards than any other kind. :D

dancerriley 12-28-2008 06:45 AM

I would love a new dance set....

I agree with you, LeisaJane, about more "get well" cards and more "Thanksgiving" cards. I would, however, like to see the Thanksgiving cards in the Fall & Winter Catalog, along with Christmas and Halloween, and more Easter & spring & summer stuff in the spring & summer catalog. To me, it just doesn't make sense to put the Easter stuff in the fall & winter catalog and winter holiday stuff in the spring & summer catalog.

ljwh02 12-28-2008 07:57 AM

I would love to see something really little girly....dancing, ballarina's, purse, lip stick. They had a really cute set a few years ago and my daughter was just a baby and now it is gone and they have nothing!! That is what I want to see!! May all our wishes come true!! :)

frou frou 12-28-2008 08:08 AM

Easter is my favorite holiday, I love Christmas, and valentines day is a close second but Easter is the big one for me , and each year the selection gets less, and less. Im crossing my fingers for maybe 3 sets in this new catalog, that would be wonderful, sweet vintage bunnies, cute chicks...Oooh and a new version of buggies and booties, I have regreted not getting that one!!

Shopping Diva 12-28-2008 08:10 AM

I hope I don't get slammed for this comment, but, I'm just hoping they have better artist's this time around. I'm tired of seeing these stamps that look like they were drawn by a 6 year old!

Kegbo 12-28-2008 08:26 AM

I would love to see more sets you could put together to create a whole scene, rather than just a single image or small parts that combine with the focal image but still end up being a single image (this actually makes sense in my head). I guess I'm not creative, but I seem to always have a focal image and I fill in the rest of the card front with designer paper or sentiment stamp. I'd love to create an entire scene to fill up the whole card front - like a street scene, or an entire table scene to go with that vase of flowers. Am I making sense?

Sharpstamper 12-28-2008 08:32 AM

I would love some Asian sets and really really want Egyptian sets. Not so many "childishly drawn ones"

ckbythesea 12-28-2008 08:40 AM

I would like to see more architectural elements like windows, columns, doors, walls, ruins . . .

Less cutesy stuff, more stylized and artistic.

Julie/MO 12-28-2008 09:34 AM

Computer

This may sound weird, but I'd like to see some stamps with computers, game systems etc. that I could use when I scrapbook for my second son. I love the hunting, fishing, wildlife ones for my first sone, but there's nothing for computer geeks.

Oh, man....I'd love to know how that trend ever started, lol! Seems like it's everywhere, not just SU! I get enough grief about rubber stamps...I can just see dh's reaction if I got stamp sets of stick figures and kindergarten images!

I would definitely go for more realistic drawings too...actually just give me a nice VARIETY of styles. I can share, lol...just have less of one style and lots of many styles...

lites 12-28-2008 10:28 AM

Yes I agree LeisaJane we need more Sentiments in the SU catalog. I bought some cards once and the Sentiments in them was for Get Well. The saying was just a nice generic saying. EXAMPLE Hoping That each day finds you feeling more and more like your wonderful self. OR Sure being in the Hospital is a downer but look on the bright side at least they serve you breakfast in bed. GET WELL SOON. OR If knowing that someone cares helps the healing process then you should be feeling better already.

Yes, I can print in on my computer and cut it out but a stamp would be much easier.

lites
Now aren't they cute???

Curly Chick 12-28-2008 10:47 AM

I would love to see a really nice graduation set. I have a 16 and 17 year old who will be graduating soon and the sets have been YUCKO!!!

Pamela

CherieN 12-28-2008 10:49 AM

I definitely agree with more sentiment stamps. It's hard to find stamps to use on the inside of cards.

princessp1971 12-28-2008 10:54 AM

Anything but more flowers!

valeriecathleen 12-28-2008 11:11 AM

I'm always on the lookout for nice religious themed Christmas stamps and would also like to see some sets of Scriptures that would be suitable for birthday, new baby, thank you and thinking of you cards.

chickadeelodge 12-28-2008 11:13 AM

I would like to see more artistic sets too...maybe more collage, more vintage-artsy.

No more cutesy stamps! Gag! And as much as I love florals, it is getting a bit ridiculous.

Definitely more masculine sets too.

LOVE this idea! I, too, would buy it in a heartbeat!

I second the vote for male-inspired stamps...yes to computers, video games, techie stuff.

I also would LOVE more sentiments. Those Get Well Sentiments in the previous post were great...wish they had more like that and less cutesy pun-style sayings (not always appropriate!).

I would love:

* A vintage guitar set! Less of the ugly skulls/Hannah Montana look, and more classic. Think Classic Convertibles meets rock 'n roll!

*More sentiment sets where there's a sentiment for the front of a card and a corresponding verse for inside. Why doesn't SU make these anymore?

*Less flowers...period!

*Less Japanese anime inspired/ugly doll/ looks like a third grader drew it art!

*Less following trends (bird, owl, etc.) and more inspiring and setting trends.

Just a few more weeks to see what new stuff SU has to offer! I have the feeling that with this tougher economy, we'll see a lot less production of new art from the smaller companies for a while.

Curly Chick 12-28-2008 12:01 PM

I love the computer, video game, techie idea.

I have a dh and ds who are, at this moment, playing some kind of RPG game on two PC's with each other. It sounds rather grotesque to me. Lots of killing of the undead etc., but they love it.

StampinAnytime 12-28-2008 12:04 PM

Less floral, more masculine and vintage.

ponygirl40 12-28-2008 12:52 PM

A really good horse set that is NOT western-themed!!

Also, more of the old vintage looks. I'm tired of simple line drawings.

nancystamps 12-28-2008 01:59 PM

A religious set for children, to use for First Communion, Baptism, or Confirmation, with a sentiment like "God Bless You on your Special Day" with a pretty, joyous looking cross, not the kind that are only suited for an Easter or sympathy card, maybe children's hands praying, not shrively, wrinkly old praying hands.

Please no more spots, little pieces, big pieces, scribbly stamps. I do like stamps that work with the scallop punches.

Ditto on more dance stamps, I'm always making cards for dance teachers....not just ballet either, I'd like to see jazz, tap shoes, music notes, the word "RECITAL" A sports set for a COACH....every year I make cards for the soccer coach, basketball coach, baseball coach. Stamps for people, PEOPLE!! (I'm not asking for too much, am I?)

Jacque1263 12-28-2008 02:02 PM

I would also love to see more sentiment stamps and some sentiment rub-ons would be great too. They could make theme by theme and in black, white and brown like they do for the other rub-ons.

Stampin' Annie 12-28-2008 02:09 PM

NO MORE FLOWERS! Whew, glad I got that off my chest! ;)

I love the idea of the computer geek/video game type sets. My DH doesn't fish or golf. Also, maybe some kind of books/reading set that I could use for teachers and readers in my life.

More and better sentiments, too.

gullahfemme 12-28-2008 02:16 PM

I'd like to see a really nice, classy Mother's Day set.

raestamps 12-28-2008 02:36 PM

How about some band/orchestra instruments? My daughter takes music lessons and I'd love a nice set to make cards to give to the band/instrument teachers!

peebsmama 12-28-2008 02:42 PM

I have so many SU stamp sets now that I rarely even look at those in the new catty anymore because they seem like they are re-hashing prior sets. But what I would really love to have is more sentiments that work with the word window punch and a slightly larger word window punch that would be a mat for the current size.

luv2stampinSD 12-28-2008 02:42 PM

I would love to see...

More masculine sets such as:

1) computer/video game etc.
2) waterskiing, wakeboarding, kneeboarding
3) snowskiing, snowmobiling, snowboarding
4) hiking, boating
5) 4 wheeling, jeeping, four wheeler, etc.
6) More sentiments all across the board

NO more cutesy sets!! NO more doodles, circles, squares etc!!

P.S. Can you tell I live in a house full of boys??!! :) hee hee

annie21211 12-28-2008 03:32 PM

I am tired of cutesy sets that aren't very versatile. I'm not sure exactly what I want but I'll know it when I see it. I do know that I'm in the mood for Vintage art.

RedMolly 12-28-2008 03:42 PM

Non-cute cats.

isewquilts2 12-28-2008 03:44 PM

I'm with the NO MORE FLOWERS group!
I live in a houseful of males too, and I would love to see more male-friendly sets.

jkminor 12-28-2008 03:50 PM

Amen to all of the above. I wish they would offer sets either mounted or unmounted. So that those of us that unmount could get what we want and those that love the wood can get what they want. Offer a choice.

I would love really cute dog and cat sets, a good fishing set (not just fly fishing) and scenery sets to create various background scenes. I would love to see a good variety of vintage, artistic and realistic sets. Line drawings are fine but I am not interested in sets that look like they were drawn by little kids. I would also like to see more masculine sets.

Something I would really love is to have practical and useful card sentiments in all the sets and not the weird, off-the-wall sentiments and quotes that SU is so famous for.

toobusystamping 12-28-2008 04:48 PM

I will add to the "no more flowers" group - do we not have enough flowers.

I also agree we need more sentiments, for both inside and out.

Computer theme would be great too - not cutesy - but real.

Maybe, finally we can see a good cat set - not one drawn by a 4 yr old or one that puts you into sugar shock looking at it.

I would really like to see some classic cars come back as well as well as a great house stamp. Realistic and simple.

3boysstampin' 12-28-2008 05:58 PM

Definitely some skateboarding and more masculine sets. While I don't have dancers/gymnasts, I think there's a need for some of these type sets. And let's add a new boy scout/girl scout set.

I would like this too because it describes my fiance!! :p
