Default New Catalog Qs

ok-- i am sure that SOMEONE has heard something about the new caty-- and i am curious-- Is SU going to just put wintery or summery stuff in the new caty? is the caty gonna be smaller- with less stamps since it is only for 6 months?? I would hate not be able to get any of the stamps anytime i wanted!!!!

I sure hope that they won't limit us, that could cost us some serious $$!
I hope that its going to be a full catalog, as usual. i went through my current book and marked everything that is going to be retired.. that is A LOT of stuff!!! thats what makes me worry a little.

Don't worry! I'm sure you'll find something to spend your craft $$ on

Yes, two catalogs, but each will still be over 200 pages. The Fall/Winter ~ Spring/Summer refer to when the catalog is in effect. Some stamps will be on the "dormant" list, meaning that they won't actually be in the catalog, but still available for purchase. And with as much as they retired this time, I'm certain the new catalog will be chock full of new designs

See you demo for more details.

I've heard that the new cattys will be slightly shorter than the current catty, but that's about all I've heard. I'm curious too!

Are they going to change the In Colors every 6 months now, or will they stay for the whole year like they do now?
(Sorry if this was posted earlier)

ok, just found some more info in case you all are interested:

there are going to be 4 publications per year.. so only 2 mini catalogs per year + 2 standard catalogs... winter/fall summer/spring

the books wont be as big-- some products will be dorment-- so still orderable-- but not in the new catalog. and-- the catalogs will be about 50 pages less than the current catalog.

Now-- having said this-- i am not a fan of change-- but i am really hoping that this means there will be lots more fun stuff on the horizon! SU is such a great great company-- i can't imagine that they would do anything to hurt our creativity!

I was told by my demo last night that we are going to get a "preview" catty right away, we can't buy out of it, but we can look and see some of the stuff that will be in the new catty.

Default Dormant?

Will there be a list of the dormant stamps that are still available for purchase but not in the catty?
I hope so - out of sight, out of mind?

I don't think that there will be a preview. I am a demo, and I talked to SU myself today. they don't even know what is in the catalog.. its all very hush hush-- which adds to the excitement. If you get a preview -- let me know-- I just cant imagine how she will do that...

When the new caty comes out, each demo will have access to the list.. just ask your demo after June 1st... if you cant reach them-- just im me-- i will be happy to provide that to you.

There is a preview catalog that will be treated as a short term mini as far as demos are concerned (they cost us the same as a mini). I know that Demos will be able to preorder select items in June. I am not sure about customers. I choose to send some to my customers and all Demos had that choice. However the deadline was the end of April so if they missed it ??? It was posted on the SU! demo site and the Demo side here in several thread well over a month ago.

The retirement list was a shocker!!! Huge list but SU! is making it a priority to make new stuff available to all of us sooner. The 2 catalogs will still be over 200 pages each and there will now be two minis a year instead of 4. Your demo should have a copy of the dormant list and it should be posted on the SU! website.

Default 2007 Accessory Retirement List

Does anyone know if there will be a separate accessory retirement list? It seems like I remember this list coming out later than the retired stamp sets did last year. I want to place an order but unsure if I should wait to see what else is retiring. Thanks for your help

The preview brochure will be sent out to customers on June 1 and will feature items form the Fall-Winter 2007 catalog. Only demonstrators will be able to purchase out of this brochure, so that they can have some new items available to demo with in July. Customers can request the brochure from their demo or view it on-line and start working on their wish list. Customers will be able to place orders from the new Fall-Winter 2007 catalog starting on July 1.

As for the retired accessories, SU will make that list available to demonstrators on June 20. All of these retiring items will be sold on an as-available basis, which means that some or all of them will go fast (just like some of the retiring wheels). If there are any accessories on your must have list, I would recommend placing you order for them now. Last year some of the items (large corner rounder punch, for example) were sold out even as the list came out. If you absoutely must wait until the end of June to place your order, I would recommend communicating with your demo ahead of time so you can be sure that when the list comes out your order is placed ASAP.

I would really stress the communication part. If the order is very important to you, you want to make sure your demo knows this and is able to accomodate your needs. You also want to make sure your demo will be available on June 20th (some of us do take vacations -- LOL!).

A little advance preparation should alleviate a lot of retired accessories stress and angst.

So will the retiring accessories list only be available to demos, or will it be available online like the retiring stamps list?

I know for sure that it will be posted on the demonstrator web site. It's not entirely clear whether it will also be posted on the customer site.

Because printing costs have gone up, the catalogs will still be $9.95 in the US.
