BEAUTIFUL! I voted for the braid running up and down on the bottom panel. I think there is so much other lovely "texture" going on that too much braid might take away from the embossing. JMHO! They are going to be beautiful no matter WHAT you choose to do!

OK, I've justed stared at them all on the screen for about 5 minutes -- hard to decide -- you have used the textile folder on them all, right? I think my vote goes for number 1. However, if you want really simple, would it look too bare with NO ribbon, just the panels? Just wondering. But number 1 gets my vote!!!

Sharon....funny you should mention that...When she comes to over today to choose that will probably be what she will want to do. You know me....over embellisher...I am the one that said...don't you think we should put something like a nice braid on them? She says, well..okay, we can try it. I think your option will probably be the one she will go for....We will see...

I like the first and the up and down one. The embossing is wonderful. I too was wondering if a different ribbon or cording would ad the elegant touch you're looking for with a little more lightness. All of them are amazingly beautiful. Nice job, Auntie!!

I voted for the First one...
They are all beautiful... but my vote went to the first one, where it is in the middle of the two panels. My nex fav is the one on the side... I'm not sure about the one at the bottom. But they are all great, and your niece should be proud! Send congrats to her from CANADA.
Nice job!

Barb, the card that started this whole thing had a black velvet ribbon on it....It was nice too....that is definately an option and maybe she will have an idea of a different look....ribbonwise....Thanks for your feedback!

I like the first one, with the ribbon in the middle. It's a little more subdued that is MY taste, but it's beautiful. I really think the LOVE panel could use just one little dry embossed flower on it.

I think they are very pretty and graceful. I vote for the first one, and agree with Sharon, you could try with no ribbon...

I am loveing all of them, but the first two almost look like there should be something in the panel on the bottom, so I went for #3

What if you used just the top panel centered on the card? (No bottom panel or braid) - Just a thought! Very pretty samples regardless!

I voted for the braid going up and down on the bottom panel, but I would move the braid over so it is 1/6 to 1/3 of the way over on the panel.

I voted for the up-and-down design, and was just wondering what you used to glue the gimp down. I used that same gimp on a card recently and tacked the edges to the back of the layer with Crystal Effects-like product and let it dry with binder clips holding it together, but I'm assuming you have a less cumbersome solution seeing as you will be doing a batch of invites like this. TIA~!

They are all beautiful! To me the 2nd one seems like there should be something on the panel besides the embossing. I can't say why I get that feeling, maybe it's a symmetry thing or I'm just weird. Maybe if you put another piece on the other end or something. Otherwise my vote goes for #1 and I think velvet ribbon would be gorgeous.
While you wouldn't see as much of the embossing have you thought of 3 panels? (Remember the rule of thirds?). Have the Love panel in the center and an embossed panels above and below it and then maybe no ribbon or gimp, just the border. Just another idea to throw out there.

The first one is very elegant and beautiful (fit for a wedding simplicity and beauty). They're all pretty but that one is the best, I mean to say.

invitation choice
All three are simply stunning and it was a difficult decision but I voted for the second one. Personally, I think the braid accents the design of the embossing so well. I knew you'd come up with gorgeous samples for her to make her choice.

I voted for the braid going up and down because it breaks up all the horizontal lines, but when you mentioned black velvet ribbon I immediately thought, "ooooh, yes!". If her colors are black and white the velvet would be fabulous. Regardless, I had a really tough time deciding...your samples are all gorgeous!

I think the braiding adds an additional touch of elegance, but just a little bit of it, so I voted for number 3. It'll be interesting to hear what your niece thinks of these!

I just went back and read through the comments. I LOVE the idea of black velvet ribbon and think you should check that option out. That would go really well with the beautiful embossing. What fun you are having!

They are all lovely. I voted for the first one, but since I like very simple, I would like even better without the addition of the braid. Reminds me of my china pattern...Noritake white flowers embossed on white porcelain with a platinum band around the plate...

Please do let us know what she said! (BTW, I voted for the third option, but couldn't really make out the embossing very well. Would still love to know how you adhere the gimp/braid! )

Hi....thanks for the reminder....I remember reading your post and forgot to respond......What I used was that stuff, I don't know what it is called but it is that really bright orange double sided tape that you put on and then peel a layer off and stick stuff to it. They use it alot for the little micro beads and stuff.....Anyway I put a short strip of that on the backside, put the braid on it and then ran a piece of regular scotch tape over the top of that. I seems to hold pretty good. That orange double sided sticky stuff is really, really sticky, if you know what I mean!!! That is how I will probably do it if she likes them......because I will have to make alot of them....
I had this other braid that actually had little pearls sewn in it and it was very pretty but I opted not to use it for the very reason that it was much more lumpy and I thought #1 - it would not hold as well and #2 - I didn't want her to have to pay more postage because they were lumpy....Thanks so much for your feedback. I am gonna make a couple more samples in the morning since I am fading pretty fast tonight!

Thank you very much for sharing an easier way to adhere gimp, and your beautiful cards too!
