Where to go in Sandusky, OH?
My MIL & I are taking the kids on a little vacation to Sandusky, OH. Does anyone know if there are any LSS/shopping nearby that I should check out?
I've heard about "The Container Store", and i'm not sure if it's close. I'm use to Meijer/Target/Walmart & Kmart, but what else should we check out?
Thanks!

Sandusky is home to Cedar Point which is a HUGE amusement park. They have the most roller coasters out of any other park...I think. lol

If you happen to be going through the Cleveland area to get to Sandusky, you will certainly not be disappointed if you stop by Hollo's in Brunswick (SW side of Cleveland). Paper...paper...and more paper! And cheap! By the pound!
Here's the link. Make sure you check the hours.

We're headed to Soak City kids are too small yet for the roller coasters. We're coming from Detroit, MI area and I'm not sure if we pass Cleveland. Definitely Toledo though.

You won't pass through Cleveland if you're coming through Detroit.
Have fun at Soak City!!

There is NOTHING left in Sandusky craft wise. I take that back, we do have a Pat Catans (Think a cheap Michaels). Heck, we no longer have a Michael's either :(
If you are coming thru Toledo, there is a store in Toledo...The Elegant Stamp. It is off of Reynolds Rd. I haven't been there in a year or so but it use to be a nice store.
Pm me if you want to talk more.

The Elegant Stamp is at 1643 Tollgate Drive, which is actually a small strip shopping center on Dussel Drive. If you are heading south on 23/475, take Exit 6 (Dussel), turn left at the top of the ramp. Go through maybe 3 (?) traffic lights, and it will be on the left. If you reach Reynolds Road you've gone too far.
The store has beautiful samples, but frequently they look more intricate/labor intensive than I'm willing to try. There is a nice cookie shop next door, though!
Most of the other local shops that I've heard about are closed. When I first started stamping, I'd find out about a place, then find only an empty storefront when I tried to shop there.

If you want to drive a little further, Stamplistics is in Amherst, OH (right off I90); and it's the biggest stamp store in OH. It might be about 30 min from Sandusky--I'm an hour from Cedar Point, and Stamplistics is about 25 min from me (in the same direction).
I happen to like Pat Catan's, too. Not just stamping or scrapping, it's a lot of different craft stuff (and always discounted prices). So if you do nothing else that's worth a stop.
I had also heard about a scrappin store in Clyde or Fremont but that's a little off the highway. I never found it though so I'm not sure where it is or if it's even still there (I found their website awhile ago and it was still functional)...
The Container Store is cool, but not cheap.
If you're there long enough, you can take a ferry to Put in Bay on Middle Island (about an hour) and that's a fun place to walk around, rent bicycles, visit a winery & a historical lighthouse, etc.

The closest Container Store is in Columbus which is about 2-2 1/2 hours from here.
In Fremont, which you will go near if you take the Turnpike, is a scrapbook store called Scrapbook Attic. I have not been there in 3 or 4 years. It is a very small store and I didn't find anything of interest when I was there.
My cousin did tell me there was a new scrapbook in Clyde but I don't find it on the Yahoo yellow pages and I haven't been there.

I have stopped by the Clyde store 3-4 times. It is always closed.
I did meet the owner at a expo...she is not very friendly. Her husband is a nice guy though.
