Default Craft Stores in Mexico

My daughter is travelling to Mexico and wants to bring me back something crafty. I have been checking the internet but can't find any suitable stores. Could a kindly crafter give me some advice please? Thank you for reading.

I don't know of any stores in Mexico and the one that I did hear about really had alot of dated items at extrodinary prices since the items are not local and imported. I would however highly suggest that she visit the market where "artesania" (craft) items are available. SHe will be amazed at the amount of creative items that are local and handmade, alot of one of a kind items that can be used for projects not neccessarily available even on the internet. hope she has a great trip and that you score a lovely souvenier.

Mexico has stores that sell laces, ribbons, buttons etc., very reasonable prices and selections. You can ask a local where such a store is located.

Thank you scrappychica. Is that market in Mexico City? Thank you also dillyb5. I will pass on your suggestions to her. I think the lace/ribbon/buttons is a good idea as they are always useful and easy to transport.

Please tell her not to travel alone and to pay attention to her surroundings at all times. The Cartell situation is so bad all over Mexico.

Thankfully she is not alone and she is visiting people she knows and she is a sensible lady. Thanks for the warning though!
