Default Need serious help with this card!!!

I received some Martha Stewart butterflies from WISH RAK and saw a card using them that I really liked so tried to adapt it to an idea I had and IT DIDN'T WORK!!! Please let me know what I can do to salvage it. I sponged ballet blue around the edges but it doesn't show very well and not sure it helped any. Thanks.

If it were me, I would probably color the mouse and the ink jar, add a couple of brads (or paper piercing) to the bottom right corner, and bring your stippling or sponging further in from the edges. And maybe jazz up the butterflies by putting some rhinestones or stickles on the wing?

I like it, too.

If you want to dress it up some, maybe you could put some coordinating photo corner punches over the holes you punched and in the opposite diagonal corner.

What do you think about putting a "swirly trail of dots" marking the butterflies' path or something like that, like the Whimsy wheel.

I think its really pretty, but I agree that it needs 'something' - what about continuing your paper pricking in a single line round the edges?

I like the swirly dots suggestion, but I like this quote from Charles Mingus.
"Making the simple complicated is commonplace, making the complicated simple, awesomely simple, that's creativity." Sometimes less is better.

I like it too. I think maybe a black layer under the white would 'pop' it more.

I think the only thing you need to do would be to color the ink in the jar to match the butterflies. Leaving the mouse black and white adds to the drama of the little painted butterflies coming to life.
It's a great card overall.

Cute, but perhaps add a little hint of pink to the mouse's ears, feet, and hands. I like the idea of a bit of blue in the bottle and the some dots to show the flight of the butterflies.

Nice card!!
Maybe some color on the jar and little marks around the butterfly, like a flutter effect.

I like the way it is though. Nice job ;)

Well, after incorporating a lot of your suggestions, here's what the final product looks like. I added the photo corners (though I don't have a punch so made myown), added stickles to the wings and little black dots showing their route, "pinked up" the mouse a bit and added some blue ink, edged the white in black and sponged on a little more blue on the outside.

House Mouse Revised by buttons2 at Splitcoaststampers

After all that effort, don't think I'll be trying to make another. Lots of effort to use two little butterfly punches :>)

I just posted that your revised version rocks. I like all of the touches you added. Especially the bling on the butterflies! Of course I am part magpie/crow and love love love the sparkly stuff.

Personally, I love both the before and the after, but agree that the mouse and jar needed a little color. I've also decided I have to have this MS butterfly punch.

I love the changes you made. Isn't it hard to believe that just those few things changed the whole look/feel of the card? Great job--I love the little mouse!

I love the changes too! I do think you need a bit more blue in the jar and on the tip of the brush, so it shows the progression from the brush to the butterfly! Great card!

Your finished card is wonderful! Love it-so cute and yet pretty at the same time.

PS If you want some more MS Butterflies, PM me with your address and I'll send you some. I have that punch and really enjoy it.
