I read today that the economic stimulus checks are starting to be mailed next week, a week early. Most of mine is already spoken for, but I definitely would like to stimulate the stamping economy -- especially because so many are small businesses and they're the ones who need the influx of business the most! I feel comfortable spending up to $100 of it on stamps and stuff. So I've been thinking what I can buy. Definitely the cupcake set from Eclectic Paperie, and my first Bella (or two), but then the choices are huge. Maybe a circle scallop punch, too.
So -- if you were to take $100 of your stimulus check to spend on stamps and equipment, what would be on your list? Your choices can't add up to more than $100.
Any thoughts?

Boooo I don't get one we made too much. But if you had to get something how about a cuttlebug if you don't have one or nessability (sp?) dies for it if you have one. I love both of them... Stamps there are too many different one's out there. High hopes has some great stamps.
Nestabilities were very high on my list, but last evening I had to go buy a new laptop - my current one has been giving me problems and my DH, the IT guy, told me it was time to just bite the bullet and do it. So I've declared a stamp spending moratorium. (I wonder just how long that will last. :-D )

Hmmm, a scor-pal and PTI stamps would be on my list. Our stimulus check is going toward a big wooden playset for the kids. I'm looking forward to kicking them out into the back yard every afternoon and having a few minutes of peace to stamp.... Ahhhhhh!
Ours is going toward windows....it will be so nice to have such a drafty house!
But I think I may have a little left over to play with too I'm getting some SU spots (I don't have much ink) and a black ink pad, I also will probably get some paper as I have 600+ pictures coming that need scrapped too....I keep thinking about nestabilities....but I want to see them in person first (is this possible??)
I just read that update as well. THe direct deposits were suppose to be first, does anyone know if they still are?
Anyway, I think I am going to use mine to sign up with SU! I am going to buy my oler DS a Futon for his room. Younger DS gets a new CD Player for his room.
I'm looking for the incentive buys, I believe super valu and cub foods are giving an extra incentive of a $30 bonus when buying $300. in groceries, maybe Menards, things like that. Maybe some stamping companies will do the same

Boo hoo! I'm jealous of you all! We have to use ours to pay for our airline tickets for our summer vacation! Oh, well, I am certainly thankful. I just wish that money wasn't already spent! LOL! (I also wish I wasn't terrified of flying! Considering we are flying from Alabama to Wyoming, I suppose I'll get used to flying by the time we get there!)

I am thinking a score pal and some new stamps-I only plan on spending a little. I have to save my oldest ds and I are going on a school trip next year to France!

Asuuming you don't "need" a stamp set or two, consumables like paper and ribbon are always a good choice. For non-SU! items, I LOVE my scor-pal and Cuttlebug. Wish list might also include a good paper cutter or some Nesties.

People who filed taxes for 2007 AND used direct deposit for refunds will get theirs beginning Monday with the last two digits of the first SSN being the guide to who gets them first. They will begin with 00-09 and on until they are through. Checks will be mailed out in mid May-July. I'll get mine first since my husbands SSN is 01. Whoo Hoo. But being not the most patroitc person for many reasons, my check will go into savings. Sorry Bush. I am happy for those who will get a check and will be able to pay some bills and buy gas. I don't think the economy is going do a huge 180 considering the cost of daily living right now.
I would love to spend another $100.. but I just spent $250 on stamps last week and they'll be here on Monday.. and my Great Rewards Brads will be here and if only I could decided on my two free any price sets.. decisions, decisions!

I would definitely purchase more A Muse stamps and paper. (they are going to be having another release very soon!) ...and possibly purchase more Copic markers. :-D

I'm planning on attending Orlando StampFest in June. I think I'll just take the whole check and blow it in one day! That should be some economic stimulus for many vendors!
I think some of the PTI ink pad colors and ribbons would be on my list for stamping supplies. Otherwise we have a couch in the living room that is over twenty years old and it looks every day of it. I'm going to be saving for a new sofa and waiting until a furniture store has a decent sale.

Are you gonna stop by and say hi to Sherry and I?

I will be putting 200$ into savings and then giving my bf 200$, since he did not file taxes so he won't be getting this check. I will keep 200$ for myself to spend. I was thinking of getting the nestabilities scalloped circles, and a couple sets of acrylic stamps from MFT and Amuse.

I have been thinking about this, and will be hard pressed to limit myself to $100. I placed a $50 order with CHF last night, and have been wanting to place orders with Papertrey, Verve Visual, the hydrangea stamp from Kitchen Sink Stamps and probably SU before this year's colors disappear. There are probably a few others I have been needing.....but I'm way over $100 already!
I just hope it helps someone in some small way!

I won't be spending any of it on stampy goodness . . .but if i WERE, i would score a scalloped circle punch, some stamps from Verve Visual, October Afternoon, MFT, and some Scenic Route patterned cardstock - oh, and some Pink Paislee goodies too.

Sweet! Money in my account on Monday!
I didn't get the full $600 (closer to $300), but part of it's going into my savings account, and I'll see what else I want to do with it.
$100 for stamping... hmm... Verve Visual stamps and maybe a full shape set of Nesties.
distress ink reinkers, circle & oval nesties, some new Stampers Annonymous stamps, a few canvases, and there are a few stamps from Hero Arts I reallyyyy want badddddd....
So the direct deposit ones will all be distributed by May 2? Excellent! I wonder if anyone will have a stimulus special -- like no shipping or something like that.
I'm starting to think that I'm going to need some Papertrey new patterned paper and ribbons too.
I'm usually so frugal -- got myself a corner rounder punch with an AC moore 50 percent coupon -- but this time, whatever adds up to $100 is good!

I'm thinking 300 to the savings and maybe 300 for some copics? I dunno yet, but I didn't spend ANY regular tax money so I think I deserve it I've been resisting the copics so well but I fear I'm losing the battle:(
so going to check my bank account right now. hold up!
