Smile Need ideas for 21st birthday card for a boy

I've been asked to make a 21st birthday card for a boy who's into computers.

It's for a friend's nephew. She would like to have his name written on the front of the card, as well as "21".

Any ideas/advice, please??? I find it very difficult to make cards for men!

How about stamping the 21 in the monitor of the computer? You can say something like "turning 21....his name????" on the front and on the inside of the card...
*legal at last--have a blast
*welcome to adulthood
*So you're just 3 in dog years
*So you're mature now...go get a job!
*With maturity comes responsibility, make wise choices. You're now an adult, do something useful like go take out the trash and clean your room.
(I took these from [bold] Ultimate Guide to the Perfect Card [/bold] by Linda LaTourelle)
You could design your card around one of the sayings too. HTH some.

Good luck,
Hugs, Joanne

Making birthday cards for my nephew, who is into computers, has always been a challenge. When the SU "Computer Quips" stamp set came out, I just had to to buy it, and I used it for my nephew's most recent birthday card. The set came out after he turned 21. When he turned 21, I made a card that said 'celebrate' and I used tan, brown, and navy blue, so it looked masculine.

One thing I thought of doing, but didn't do, was make a background or a border with 0's and 1's repeating "10101" , which is binary for "21". A computer guy would probably figure out the significance. Instead, I stamped a beer keg stamp with watermark ink for a background. It was really subtle, but it signified that he had arrived at the legal drinking age.

Here is a link with some computer related clip art that would be easy to duplicate. Monitors can be made with squares, CD's with circles, a mouse can be duplicated by rounding off the corners of a rectangle, etc. Or just print some clip art on card stock and color in with markers - glue to the front of the card. I love those sayings posted by Joanne!

The binary for 21 is subtle enough to appeal to a 21 year old computer guy! Figure out a way to make it a background maybe? Good thinking.
