Hi y'all, I'm hoping y'all have some ideas for themes for a first year of marriage scrapbook. I'm shooting for about 20 pages, or 2 pages each of 10 themes. I'm just doing an "empty" book where they can add in their own pics and journaling. I'm also doing a post-bound one so they can move the pages around easily if they need to. Here's what I have so far:
Wedding
Honeymoon
First Christmas
Moving In Together
Thanksgiving
Past that, I'm a bit stumped. I'm thinking about doing general pages in Spring, Summer, and Fall themes, but can't think of any other events! As my two-year-old niece says, "Hey-Yelp!"
Also - the couple is getting married on Dec 16, which is why I put Christmas so early in the order of things. I don't want to do a "pregnancy" or "baby" theme, as they're not pregnant and I have no idea if they will be in the next year!
A page that showcases things she likes/dislikes, and same for groom?
Perhaps a page in that could be used to describe why each feels they are so good together as a couple, or what qualities the other has that they love about them?
What about a "How we met" page?
I don't scrapbook, so I'm probably very little help . . . mebbe some of our highly skilled scrappers will chime in, cuz my ideas are stupid . . . :p

What a nice gift! Have you posted this question on the scrapbooking section? I don't scrapbook much either, but maybe you can browse through one of those first year of marriage books that are out there to get some ideas for pages. I like Julie's idea for some pages on "how we met", maybe a couple pages for wedding shower pics, several for the wedding such as the grooms men, the brides maids, the couple, the ceremony, the reception, gift opening or gifts received, several for the honey moon, a page or two for "our first home". After that, maybe then a page or two for "our first anniversary".
If you do a search for wedding scrapbooks in the gallery, maybe there will be some ideas. I haven't tried a search, but I think you would get a lot of help on the scrapbooking forum too.
I just read through your request a little more thoroughly. I think it would be nice to have pages for the seasons like you suggested. As long as their wedding day begins in December, you can continue with the winter theme for our first Christmas, New Years, Valentine's day. Then for Spring their first Easter as a couple; summer can have some fun beach pages and 4th of July red/white/blue theme page; then there are plenty of ideas for Fall with Halloween and Thanksgiving. Then back to their first anniversary. I orginally thought you were doing mainly a wedding album, but I like the idea of starting with their wedding in the winter and doing special occasions throughout the seasons.
I do a lot of albums for others and In my blank wedding/first year of marriage books I always do:
Wedding
Reception
Honeymoon
Our First Home
Family and Friends
First Chrismas Together
First Anniversary
Birthday
What I love about you... or a general "love" theme that they can put cute photos of themselves together or do a Valentines theme.
Hobby Specific (find out what they like to do... if it's camping/hiking I add a great outdoors theme, if they are both big into their local sports team I do a layout about that)
Vacation Theme
Happy New Year... goals and expectations for the future.
