Default NEED HELP! Want to buy All-In-One Machine (copier)

Hi! I'd like to buy an All-In-One Machine (copier, fax, scanner, printer)
Do you have one? Which one? I've been looking at the HP PSC 2355 and PSC 2610. What about Epson?
I'd like to do photos (not all, just every once in awhile...old ones, resize originals, etc.), send a fax once in awhile, do some document copying, etc.
But, mostly it would be used to scan and make copies of older photos.
I'd appreciate your input! Thank you!
Cindy

I have the Lexmark X83 without the fax and love it. One thing you might want to check first is the printer cartridge costs before deciding on a brand. I love the scanner most, so easy to use.

I have an office Jet G85, I got it a few years ago, and must say I love it, color copies, color faxes, I find the print quality to be good. (I have had it about 3-4 years so it is older one)

I would say me sure to look for one what opens like a copier (flatbed) my friend got an all in one that was not a flatbed and it ruined the photos she was trying to scan as they have to go through the machine .

Best of luck,
Katie

I have an HP without the fax and I love it! I think Target had one on sale this week for under $100.

I have the HP all-in-one and love it. I also love their customer service. I had a problem last year where my screen locked up. I called the CS line, they tried to resolve over the phone and couldn't. They overnighted a whole new unit to me! No cost to me. Customer service from them can't be beat. I buy my ink at Costco in multi-packs.

I just bought a Epson without a fax and love it. I would usually buy an hp but what I really liked about Epson is that when you run out of a certain color of ink you just replace the color you need. With hp you have to replace everything. A replacement cartridge for an hp is about $40 and for an Epson is only about $12 because your only buying the color you need. Another thing with hp is a color photo with fade within a year and a half and potentially smudge right after being printed.

I can't remember off hand which Epson I got but if you would like to know pm me and I'll let you know.

HTH!

Love, love, love my HP G85. Copier, flatbed scanner, printer and fax. It has a sheet feeder, so if you need to copy something (or fax something) with multiple pages, you can do it by just dropping the pages in, no need to sit there with it. It's WAY expensive, but I use it all the time!

One thing to know, no matter what you choose. The printer will want to print in color, and it will make black ink from your color cartridge if there is ANY color on the page (most won't switch cartridges on a page). You can set your printer (go into the print menu and select options, I think) to print ONLY in Greyscale. That will save you big $$ on ink, because you'll be burning the $20 black cartridge instead of the $35 color one. Also, make sure your printer has both, or you'll be paying the big bucks for all your printing.

Good luck, and let us know what you choose!

I LOVE MY LEXMARK X6150 -- it is a color (and B&W) copier/printer, fax and flat bed scanner. We have had it for over a year and with 2 people full time in school and me using it frequently to print beady patterns we have only had to change the cartridge once. With my old HP we changed once a month, and if we didn't run it out of ink the ink dried up. I hated that thing.

I have a Lexmark X6170, I love it. I had purchased one in July and a bad storm got it through the phone line. I purchased another one and the MaxAssurance is covering the cost of the first one. It has the ADF Automatic Document Feeder, I don't use that often but use it for some organizations that I am a member/secretary. The cartridges are expensive and photos seem to use the most. I am going to stock up on cartridges when I receive the MaxAssurance check. I have learned not to print all the the stuff that I have saved. I don't use the photo software disc included with the printer, I use the Microsoft or Adobe. I am going to buy another software for pictures but have not made up my mind.

HI,
I recently purchased a Canon then returned it 2 weeks later. It was bulky and very noisy. I then bought the HP PSC 2355. So far , I'm very happy with it. Good Luck!

I have the Epson CX5400 and love it. I've had no problems with it. Before that I went through three HPs in two years - the same priece broke each time, and it was not covered. The HPs were cheaper, worked fine, but in my experience did not last very long. Good luck to you!
