Default Bizarre Situaiton With SU Inkpad

I just went to use my black SU inkpad for the first time and discovered that not only is it bone dry, but it looks like it had the heck pounded out of it. Seriously, I can see the permanent impressions of multiple stamps. One is a very distinct outline of a beach ball and another may be a star or starfish. This pad was shrink wrapped and packaged as part of my neutrals inkpad set I ordered during sale-a-bration last year. Thankfully, I have a memento black pad which is what I usually use. I just thought I would give the SU pad a try this time to see if it the ink was really as bad as I've read. This was definitely the head scratcher of the day for me.

Seems like quality control missed that one, huh? I would contact your demo and see if you can get a new one.

It's not really that important to me. I only have it because it came with a group of other colors. I would never have ordered it separately and it was happenstance that I decided to use it today. I have 40 other SU pads and never came across this before.

I would definitely let your demo know. Even if you don't use it right away, it should not have impression of stamps on it. It being 'bone dry' is not good either. I know location of where you live or where it was stored make a difference but other people often say they have had/used an inkpad for ages. I have a friend who has another companies stamp pad that she swears she bought years and years age and it I'd still 'juicy'.

This has happened with some of the new pads - definitely let your demo know and it will be replaced.

Add that to the litany of issues SU has had with black inkpads. It's weird to say the least. But do get it replaced, it won't cost you anything and SU would want to know about that messed up pad.

At my demo's a couple of months back she had a couple of older felt black pads out-that she had even reinked-and they stamped horribly-too light, you had to pound the heck out of them, etc. Back home I did that part of the card over using a stamp with Colorbox chalk ink in Blackbird. What a difference!!
