Default Need help on Father's Day Card

Hi, I'm quite new to the forum/group and having difficult time getting ideas for Father's Day card to make. Here are the stamp sets I have: Shapes and Shadows, Flower factory, Something to celebrate, All Occasion, Roses In Winter, Nice and Narrow, Fun filled and Spring Garden. Help what kind a card should I make my father? He loves bright color cards...

Have you looked in the gallery? If you haven't found anything, do a search with "father." I did that the other day and found a TON of ideas. You may even find something with the stamp sets you mentioned. Good luck! I'm trying to make dad's day cards too.

Most everyone has trouble making "masculine" cards. And most people don't own many of the more masculine sets. Sometimes it's hard because the sets available at SU that are appropriate for men are hobby based, like fishing or golfing (where's the computer geek set?).

Looking at the stamp sets you have, it seems like you have more flowery stamp sets, which are considered more feminine. However, you do have these stamps within your sets that can be more appropriate for men:

1. Shapes and Shadows leaf and shadow leaf
2. Something To Celebrate row of presents
3. Something To Celebrate sentiment "Happy" (part of Happy Birthday, just ink up the Happy part)
4. Nice and Narrow sentiment "happy day"
5. Fun Filled swirly background
6. Fun Filled present
7. Fun Filled sentiment "For You"
8. All Occasions sundae
9. All Occasions sentiment "Happy" (part of Happy Birthday)

Go to the Gallery and look in your sets' galleries to get ideas on how to better use the stamps you have. And remember, you can substitute. For instance, many of the examples that use Shapes and Shadows use the flower or the butterfly. Just use the leaf instead. And you can use the sentiments you have as a replacement for any sentiment shown.

Good luck!

With Father's Day cards I try to use a theme that is relevant to the specific person- for example a hobby, sport, job, lifestyle, etc. Last year I made a hat shaped card for someone who wears a hat all the time, and just added the sentiment.
