Default Natural turpenoid as a Gamsol sub?

Has anyone tried this? I have been using baby oil and it works, but I don't like the greasiness of it. My inlaws are coming overseas in November and I'd like to have them bring something - the Gamsol is 'hazardous' according to Dick Blick, but the Turpenoid was not listed as such, and looked a little safer to have around to. Anyone know? TIA -

Turpenoid works fine. You will have no trouble with it. I have used it when I am out of Gamsol, looks the same.

I've tried the Natural turpenoid, I was able to find it at Michaels, I returned it, I hated the smell, it was awful!

This is the brand I bought: http://www.dickblick.com/zz004/43/

Hi Dina,
I got W&N Sansodor (as unable to get Gamsol in the UK) and it works fine - better than the baby oil that's for sure!

I got the turpenoid brand that micheal's or AC Moore sells, the smell has never bothered me in the least, if anything I think it smells good. I think the smell of things is relative. I hate the smell of lysol and air sprays, like mono multi and turpenoid..lol

I put my Gamsol in my "checked" luggage when I was traveling and had no issues with it. I am also the person that has thier luggage rummaged through every time I fly. They did not confiscate it. I have no experience with the turpenoid, so I am no help there.

Yes, they carry it at Michaels here in my area. I've also used Mono Lisa OMS, it worked... then I tried Gamsol and now that's the only thing I'll use with Prismacolor Pencils ~ Gamsol, blends so much nicer!

OK, my MIL was able to find Gamsol but she is going to check with the airline to see about including it in her luggage on an international flight...if they say no, I guess I'll order the turpenoid - at least on dickblick it doesn't have a 'hazardous' marking, meaning it's something they would ship overseas.

My friend works for Delta airlines. I called her and asked her about this for you. She looked it up on their computers and said it would not be a problem at all if she put it in her checked luggage for you. You will love the Gamsol, it really is the best.
