Tonite my DH said to my 10 yo DD--I want to play with you, what do you want to do? She says (bless her heart) STAMP!!! WITH MOMMY!!!
So for the past hour, he has stamped, sponged, punched, cut, embossed (he loved the heat gun, btw), and crimped (loved that crimper, too)! And actually looked like he was having a good time! AND, he will send the card he made to his mother! He made me promise I wouldn't post it here, but he really ended up with a nice card.
I am so proud of him!
Oh man!! That will be the day I fall over dead in my house!! My husband sat down to try and scrapbook with me once or twice but I am so uptight about some of my things (special embellishments that are slated for certain types of pages, etc) that he said he'd never do that again! He also doesn't have a lot of time to spend doing "hobby" type things so when he does have some time, he'd rather be spending it doing something else. Maybe if I put the bug in my dd's ear to ask Daddy to stamp with her, she would!!! Hm. That's an idea! I'll have to try that!

I demonstrated at a workshop lately that included the Hostesses DH. He enthusiastically sat at the front and asked lots of questions. He was totally into it and has proudly made many more cards since! I think his enthusiasm will start a whole new movement here with the men getting past the whole idea that this is just for the girls. I plan on doing a session just for the guys to do Mothers Day cards. I totally believe men are going to get hooked on the rubber stamping and scrapbooking too - we all just have to add the masculine flavour to this craft and it will happen!!
My 16 year old son made a card for my DH's birthday a week ago...he was in my stamp room at midnight rummaging through my stamps and embellishments! The next morning, he wispered to me that he made a card for Dad, he was so cute...he had to take me in my room and show me the paper and stamps he used! He was so proud! And the card was fantastic!
When I get stuck with a stamping project my SO will either finish the project for me or re do the whole thing. He also makes me a birthday card every year since we have been together ( 6 next month).
My hubby sat and stamped with me and my friend the other day too! He was at my demo and ordered $75 worth of stuff! He let me have his free SAB set too. He didn't make a card or anything when he stamped, just asked us questions and tried out some supplies on blank copy paper. Now he has said that I can use his stamps as well :-)
My son made a card for a female friend at xmas but one of the men in my dance class stamps with his wife all the time. Men can be just as artistic as us ladies.
My DH made my Valentine's Day card and stamps with my sometimes...just to spend time together. My dad is a retired art teacher. He was at my first SU class and stamped with us. My dad and mom regularly check my gallery. Dad is encouraged by how much I have developed as an "artist". lol. I am in NO way like my dad. He is fabulous!
My husband asked me to get out all the supplies he needed to stamp my Valentine's Day card. He wouldn't let me watch as he was "creating", but was very proud of his end result. Next time we'll add layering and special techniques, but at least he suggested it himself.... without a hint from me!!!
VB stamps-
Good for your husband! My husband actually used a card I had made for my Valentine card! (OK-I do have to admit.....I gave him promission to do so. )
I think my husband would rather be run over by a truck than stamp....so I'm sure not holding my breath! But I think it's TERRIFIC that some of you have guys that will actually touch the stamping stuff :!:
That's so awesome! As for me, well, I guess it's a good thing I don't mind being alone :!:
Hugs,
Diane
