Default MOPS moms

If you are a MOPS mom, then I thought you might like to know this info. The theme for the upcoming MOPS year is Fresh Air, and the symbol they're using to promote it is a pink gerbera daisy.

So...if you are a MOPS mom and a stamper, then you definitely need the new Serene Sunflower stamp set! It makes an adorable looking gerbera daisy when done in pinks!

Just thought I'd pass that info along to you!

MOPS is Mothers of Preschoolers. It's a wonderful ministry for moms of preschoolers (or younger). It's all about building relationships and connecting with other moms.. A great support group! If you are a mom, I highly recommend it.

Is this group just in certain areas, or is it everywhere? My daughter is in preshool. I haven't heard of a group around here.

www.mops.org - you can search for a group near you on the main site.
As for the tip, THANKS! I, too, am a craft coordinator for MOPS.
Oh, and I'm a junkie - I belong to two MOPS groups.

sniff...sniff...I loved being a MOPS mom! Those were the good 'ol years...well, these are too but they are different! TAC also has a Gerbera Daisy stamp that would be beautiful for that! And, you can buy it individually so it wouldn't be too expensive for this! $5.95! Everyone could get their own at that price! I have it in my gallery...but I've only done it in blue!

You could be a mentor mom! Every MOPS group is different - some have a mentor mom at every discussion group/table and others just have one for the whole group.

I just looked into the local MOPS groups and they all meet exactly during DD's morning nap! Looked like a great organization/idea, though!

Most provide childcare and meet in churches. Ours has cribs for morning nappers. If your daughter can nap outside the home, then you might still be able to participate.

Sunshine. I'm joining in August with Karen. If you would like to come that would be great. I've been a member of MOPS for 5 years now. I am not always able to go and have not attended in 2 years. It's a fun way to meet other moms.

Sereikastamper, I found several watercolor garden pink daisies in your gallery. They are very pretty. I didn't see the pink TAC daisies.

MOPS craft ladies,

If you haven't seen the new SU sunflower, then you really need to! Check it out at the website:

www.stampinup.com

It is extremely versatile, there are two sizes of flower , and it is a two-step stamping set that is very easy to use, esp. for those MOPS moms who are not big crafters.

This sunflower set is much cheaper than a similar sunflower set that SU had featured a few years back, and in my humble opinion, it is so much more beautiful than any other flower out there. Just think of the amazing projects you could make with it!

I know that my MOPS group used a Decorative Daisy to stamp on t-shirts, and they are adorable! I wear mine all the time!

Maybe look into starting a group? I got into stamping because I answered a call in our neighborhood to join a mothers' group. It wasn't affiliated with any larger organization, but it was sure nice for awhile! It was through one of the other moms that I got started stamping....

I've thought that very same thing, Mary Rose, about that sunflower, lol! That set is so gorgeous.....

Thanks for sharing that. I have a couple of friends who are in MOPS and would love this. I LOVE the sunflower stamp set BTW! It's my new favorite floral set. I especially love that it comes with two different size flowers!

Sets of flowers are so much better than single stamps. I won't ever go back to buying a stamp all by itself - unless it's a monogram. Thanks Maryrose!

(hijack - my little sister is Rosemary - but I like it both ways!)

To me, the SU Serene Sunflower set is MUCH prettier than the TAC daisy, and more versatile.

I love that set... so versitile with 9 stamps! it works out to be a bit over $3 a stamp! It's one of our best values IMHO!

Plus you get so much more out of it than JUST a daisy. And you get to decide how to use it; where to place the stem and leaves...etc. I have also used the leaves to make great fall cards.

Besides... I LOVE that Bee that comes with Serene Sunflower. He's so BEEutiful! It's a "must have" set.

One of the things I like to do is line the envelope and stamp it with the leaf stamp or a smaller matching flower stamp so it coordinates with the card's larger flower image.... It's nice to have both the large-and small-scale images, I agree.

What a cute idea Betsy!
ITA I would never go back to buying single stamps unless it was something I HAD to have that I couldn't find ANYWHERE else.. (that anywhere else being SU of course! lol)
The Sunflower set is on the top of my Wish List. I have placed 2 orders already but especially after seeing the canister set at SU headquarters the Sunflower is the very first # I Punch in the very next order I place!

Gorgeous set and you can't beat the price when you divide it down - wow!

Thanks for pointing this out - I'll definitely mention this when I demo it!

I like to put the smaller image on the inside bottom of the card. Similar to the Lang cards on the inside.

If you don't have a MOPS group in your area, look for other mom's groups online. I found one in a Yahoo! group to where I moved. I get together with 2 of the ladies on a regular basis. They just left a few hours ago.

http://www.momsclub.org/welcome.html - the is a national mom's group. You can e-mail them to see if there is a local group in your area.

I did like MOPS for the socialization, but the group was pretty large as was the church. Every time I went, my child got sick. After he got Roseola, I quit putting him in the nursery, which wasn't totally fun for me. I don't think the church sanitized their toys at all. I really want to go to MOPS, but I have another little boy and prefer my children not to get sick at the young age. I will likely go next year...but my boy got sick for 3 or 4 months in a row after going to MOPS, so it was discouraging for me. I don't go to church, so the only other time he was around kids was in my small play group, and they stayed home if their child was sick, and they all went to MOPS and their kids got sick too after going there. If it was a smaller group and a smaller church, I would be more inclined to go.

Shame on that MOPPETS leader for not making sure that things were cleaned properly. The MOPS group I attend near my house (not the one I'm the craft leader for) has almost the opposite problem. If your child clears his throat, they page you and make you go home. It's kind of annoying when it's just non-contagious allergies, but they want a well-child environment and they are strict about it. Every church is different. Definitely inform the group you left of the problem and why you left. They need to know.

Thanks for posting that, Sarah! I'm going to try my hand at making those tags myself.

I LOVE the versatility of that set. I think it's going to be a big seller for SU! this year.

allamericanstampers - - - where is this sunflower from in your thumbnail??? I don't think that is anything close to the SU! sunflower set that is being discussed in this thread..... at least I don't think it looks anything like it.

I agree, while they are both sunflowers they are not similar at all. The one that SU has is more elegant looking to me.

Ditto, and b/c you can purchase in a set through SU, you are gaurenteed more versatility than with one stamp. And when you break it down, it is cheaper than the one TAC sells!!
Go with SU, it is just a better line of stamps!

I agree, the TAC sunflower is nice, but I think it's very different from the SU! one. The thing I like about the new SU one is that you stamp it and then turn the stamp a little and then stamp again. It looks really cool! I'm so glad they gave us all another cool sunflower set. I missed the one we used to have that was retired a few years ago.
