We are home from Texas, went to visit our son and his family. We had a very nice time. Went to Waco to visit the silos and Magnolia shops. Didn't see Joanna and Chip. Did enjoy some of the delicious cupcakes. Bought a few decorating items.
All the Christmas items are put away now. I hate taking down all the Christmas things, makes me sad, you never know what the next year has instore for you, hoping it is all good.

Thanks Chris.
By the way, I'm still using many of your pre-stamped images for the seniors to color up at the Senior Center and they're always a big hit. A few ladies asked for some humorous senior birthday images and I found a few in the stack that you sent to me. It's like having a stamp image store right in my craft room. Thanks so much again for sending those to me.

Default one of the cards I made

Risa- here is one of the cards I made using the birthday stamp. My co-worker loves purple and she will be 65. So the sentiment is perfect. I also made on for m DH's 70th later this month!

thanks

Hi Joan,
That's such a fun birthday card and I love all the purple! Whew, hope my cake never has that many candles on it...or I'd hyperventilate for sure!

I have to offer for 3 people 5 SU markers each. These are new, full of ink and pristine tips. There are 2 markers in each lot that are current colors. (All duplicate colors for me.)
PM me if you would like a "set."

I posted a few PIF's last year that were not taken so I thought I'd go ahead and post them again, in case someone has a need for them. The booklet of Anna Griffin vellum quotes are all romantic LOVE/Valentine quotes and I only opened it to see what the quotes were...they are all unused. The small stamp sets are uploaded in one group but if you only want one or two of them, just let me know which you want. I also have some 1/2 inch medium tan grosgrain ribbon ( the color of coffee with some cream in it) that I haven't shown a photo of. That is also up for grabs.
I've somehow ended up with duplicates of some of my stash and am still going through things to see what I have to offer up.

Random small stamp sets:

I also have several yards of medium tan grosgrain ribbon 1/2 inch wide.

The vellum quotes have been claimed!

Just wanted to share a card I made using some of the goodies you have shared. You may recognize the stamp used, the flowers and also the ribbon. I colored the pinkish/plum strips behind the ribbon using some homemade alcohol ink that I made using a dried up alcohol marker. I used a metallic marker to color the flowers the plum color, as they were a light green before (from user Eagles) I really enjoyed this stamp, and just colored up another one I had stamped out of it, and the plum ribbon on this card was the perfect color to match. Thank you all so much! Enjoyed making this one so much!

Oooh Chris, this is so beautiful and I love how you custom colored your paper using ink from a dried out marker. Also, coloring the flowers to the shade you needed is such a great way to stretch your stash and use up those supplies that aren't quite right. Glad you were able to use some of that lilac ribbon as well.

Here is a card I made recently.  You may recognize the die cut.  I used fingernail polish to color her, as I wanted her to be sparkly.

Wow, I've never thought to use fingernail polish on a card, but that sparkly glitter looks fabulous! Love the blended ink background too.

Yeah, they hear from her on the Alphabet Challenge thread occasionally. I think her health is not good, and she's not doing a lot of crafting. Migraines and eye problems, maybe? I don't follow so closely since I don't participate there anymore.

I use it all the time when I make my flamingo's (pink) and peacocks (teal and green).
For those two particular images it works particularly well.

Some years back, a friend & I used all kinds of nail polish to color plastic eggs (small ones on picks) and they looked fabulous! I had lots of old polishes since DH doesn't like me to wear it (or makeup). I have some small wooden eggs I may use polish on - they look enameled, which I guess they kind of are.

Wow, these are gorgeous cards! The nail polish looks like fancy embossing powder in metallic shades. I never wear nail polish but I may need to buy some now.

I ususally buy the least expensive brands and can get the blues, greens, oranges and blacks after halloween really cheap.  Looks great on pumpkins the next year as well. The pinks don't usually go in the cheap bin but I get the best buy I can for the flamingos.  Then I put a coat of clear that has sliver glitter in it over the top.  The polish really does make the die cuts look "enamaled".

I've seen some pretty crazy colored nail polish all year round and wondered who wears them (especially green). Now I'll be rummaging through the bargain polishes and people will be wondering about me, haha!
Karen
P/S: Have you tried it on chipboard, or just on card stock die cuts? Wondering how it would work on uncoated chipboard, or if it would soak in too much. I have lots of chipboard shapes that I haven't done anything with and the enamel finish would look great on them.

Yes, I've used it on chipboard and it works great. If the chipboard isn't white, you may need two coats  I also look for any glitter polish and metalic colors.  The peacock uses metalic teal, metalic blue and green. I do somewhat avoid the matte colors. They just don't givve the same effect.  Don't waste your money on the more expensive polishes or gel polish. The cheapest ones work beautifully.  None work too well on regular paper.

Saw this post about using nail polish on die cut shapes and now I'm sorry I threw my old polish bottles away! That's why crafters become hoarders..eek!

Hi Louise,
Some of my chipboard shapes are white, but others are that cardboardy stuff (technical term!). I've used paint on them, or covered with patterned paper but can't wait to give the nail polish a try. I've heat embossed a few, once or twice, but the nail polish idea sounds easier. Thanks for the idea and peek at your gorgeous die cut results.

Karen, Green polish is used by those that support the Seattle Seahawks.  I have 4 nails in blue and one I green.  Everyone in Vancouver understands.

Thanks for clearing that up!! I figured that green polish was for St. Patrick's day. Of course, the Seahawk green is that bright green, and the ones I've seen in nail polish were probably for Halloween because they were metallic witchy green. Still not a nail polish wearer (I don't even wear nude polish) but I'm going to be scouting the make-up aisle now!

Louise, Your cards are AMAZING!!!  I hadn't thought to put the clear on top of them; that is genius!  Enjoyed seeing your gorgeous cards!  So happy that you shared them for us to see!

For those two particular images it works particularly well.

ACK! I never even thought about using clear nail polish to give me that glassy look! Cheaper than Crystal Effects and much much easier to use- going to get a bottle of clear next time I'm out. I love this site!

Just remember that these things take a day or two to dry. I cut a bunch at a time, lay them out on an old piece of cardboard, when they are "almost dry" I move them to a new piece of cardboard just to make sure they don't stick. I will admit that I like the look of the nail polish better than any of the craft alternatives. They really look "enamaled" and have a bit of dimension to them. The clear polish with a bit of sliver (not the big chunks) or gold really makes them pop.
