Default Straight Layouts

The answer to this is probably on this site somewhere, but I was at a loss for the correct words to use.

When you make a card with layers, what do you do to ensure your layers are straight. My husband is always saying you need to work on that.

Anyone able to offer help? I was thinking of the stampamajig, but that seems like a lot of work and I am not sure I would not put it away and never use it.

Please help.
Thank you. Beverly

Default Great news! A gridded ruler is cheap!

I followed that thread when it first started. Watched an online video that was recommended.... Cutting Basics at Creative Keepsakes. A gridded ruler and a cheap craft knife are what the demonstrator uses.

I went to Micahel's and found the ruler for about $3. Much cheaper than the fancy gadgets that promise to do the same thing. It works for cutting and for positioning the layers. I'm really happy with mine. So is my friend who was stamping with me today.
