Default Mini-brads?

Hi all,

I'm an old-fashioned stamper who likes to use brads, ribbons, buttons, etc. as embellishments but I'm having a terrible time finding mini-brads in different colors. I used to get brads from Hobby Lobby and they had a good supply of colors as well as cute dotted/flower shaped brads but - alas - no more. The brads I found on Amazon are described as plastic; I want metal. I've checked several stamp/scrabook supply sources online but I'm having no luck. Any suggestions?

Thanks so much for your help!

Sherrie

Another vote for Eyelet Outlet. I used to visit their booth at Scrapbook Expos and always found great treasures, like brads, pearls and gems in a wide array of colors.

Default Eyelet Outlet

I agree. The past few years I've gone to the convention I've visited this place and they have tons of basic brad colors and some amazing one-of-a-kind brads. Recommend you plan a budget and stick to it, otherwise...... Have fun!!!

if you can’t find metal brads in the right colour, you can colour your existing metal brads using tweezer, Versmark ink refill, ,coloured embossing powder and your Heat tool/Heat gun.

Simply put some versamark ink refill into a little bottle cap, grab the post part of your Brad with tweezers and dip the flat part of the Brad into the versamark ink then dip it into your coloured embossing powder, shake off any excess and Heat with your Heat tool.

As soon as the embossing powder is melted, dip into into the ink again and repeat the process.

I usually repeated this process twice.

this is a great technique when you only need a few brads in a different colour.

I have a big supply of metal brads in different colors and sizes that I can share with you. Email me your address and I can send you some. I don't use them as much as I should and it would be nice to share with someone who will use them regularly.

Another vote for eyelet outlet.
I make up a wishlist or a cart and walk away.
Then I come back and pare it down. Very easy to get a ton there.

Thank you all! This is so helpful. DCinkit, you made me laugh with the credit card comment. Also love the new technique with Versamark and embossing powder. Elbasoto, I'll be in touch and appreciate your generosity. So appreciate all of you and your help!
