Default Need help w/ card

Hello~

I intended to use the Angelic set for my Christmas cards this year. I bought the copper cards and envies (gorgeous!) Classy Copper EP, copper Encore ink pad and copper cord for the project. Well when I went to emboss the angel I realized that I couldn't get enough detail. (DH thought it was a horse with wings!) The EP is regular not Detail, although I'm not sure it would make a difference because of how fine line detailed the Angel is. Any who, Any ideas? I tried stamping in Basic Black on the copper cardstock but it just isn't bold enough to really see the detail. Hmmm. . . help please!

From what I know of the detail EP, it's better for fine stamp art like this.

By the way, I had to giggle when I saw the card. If you hadn't mentioned the horse with wings, I probably wouldn't have noticed it!

Good luck!

Yeah, but SU doesn't sell detail copper EP and I'm in Germany and doubt I could get any. I wonder if I could use the copper Encore with clear detail? I'll have to check that out, but after our little trip to Brussels this week-end.

How about just stamping the image on your darker paper with the copper encore pad and not embossing. And then add your copper cord to the top of the card.

why don't you try the reverse embossing, that picks up the detail very well. I am posting a thread to a card done with this in my gallery:

If you want to try it, but need help (if you don't already know how to do this) just send me a pm.

Wow! Great card! Hmmm, now I have something new to try! Thanks! I'll let you know how it goes when I try it, probably on Monday.

Melissa,

If you want the copper effect, you can stamp with black stazon onto a window sheet. Put it through the xyron, and then apply copper pearl ex, or any combination of color, on the adhesive. I'd then mount it on a piece of black CS layered with copper. The fine detail will show up on the window sheet, yet the copper will appear with the pearl ex.

Just an idea. Keep posting your attempts. I'm learning from you!!

Hmmm, that sounds really cool, but I'm one of the few that doesn't have a xyron. Well, I have the one that is 1.5 inches wide, but my angel isn't that skinny! :( I'm still thinking about your idea though. Thanks!
