Luau 1st Birthday Party - Ideas? Mahalo!
Hi ladies!
Well, I've been on quite the SCS hiatus. I haven't stamped in years and am trying to get back into it now that I've left the corporate world in favor of raising our first child. She's 9 months old now and since we spent her half-birthday in Hawaii, thought a Hawaiian luau theme would be perfect for her birthday. The party is May 4 and the save the dates went out a couple weeks ago. It's probably that the party will be all adults (maybe one or two older kids) so we're having lots of fruity drinks and yummy food (and an adult cake and a themed personal one for our little cake-smasher).
What I'm struggling with is trying to keep the costs down and also get to utilize my VERY RUSTY craftiness. I had planned to make her actual invites since the save the dates were purchased and personalized online...I'd also love to make the favors and some decor. Recommendations? I've been searching this site but the only specifically hawaiian/luau party ideas I've found were YEARS ago and many of the links contained within are broken/invalid now. Le sigh. :confused:

BTW, I'm watching a SU "Tropical Party" set on eBay now so I'm still debating whether I can work with that for invites.
