VELLUM
TECHNIQUES & TIPS
• Using a white ink pad stamp randomly all over Vellum to make your own printed vellum.
• Stamp and color your image on to vellum flip vellum over when attaching to card for a mirror image of stamp
• Stamp on vellum with pigment ink, emboss it and then turned the vellum over and color with markers. (Makes a great stained glass look)
• Stamp image on the front side of vellum, color on the backside with markers to get a softer look.
• Use vellum as a see through pocket.
• Use vellum to soften up "loud" patterned or bright paper by layering the vellum over the patterned paper.
• Rub a stylus on the back side of the vellum. This makes the vellum pop up. It is great for trees, seashells, candles, etc
• Dry emboss, which turns white, and then either color with markers on the back or just leave the design. If you don't have brass templates, you can stamp an image in black on a white piece of paper, place the vellum over it on top of a mouse pad and trace with a stylus. Then turn it over for the raised image
• Overlap different areas of the card--you get the most out of using vellum this way
• Emboss a stamped image with black embossing powder, and then fill in the areas with Pearl Ex-Press colors. (You can't color outside the lines with this technique!)
• Use Brilliance ink pads over the top of vellum. Even inking a torn edge of vellum with a pearlescent ink adds a wonderfully elegant sparkle!
• Print wording on the computer and attach to your card
