Question markers??

Several of the new sets in the SU catalog are inspring me to think about getting markers . . . something I've not done in 15 years of stamping. I think All in a Row and Take Three would lend themselves to using markers. I guess I do have "some" markers from my early days in stamping--some sets of LaPlume, even some Marvy markers. Do you all think the SU markers are best of all?? Are there other brands and/or colors that you find very useful?? I'll appreciate all advice

In my opinion, SU markers are awesome. I think ZIG makes them for them. They are extremely high quailty. Besides they coordinate with all SU's colors whereas onther brand may not.

Default Markers

I LOVE my Impress markers and Tombow markers. They are the ones TAC sell. I have the Bold Brights in the Impress and all the Tombow. The best thing about them is how long they last!
I am a TAC demo and used the Impress markers in my make and takes for over 1 1/2 years and have just now bought a new set.
Once you use a quality marker, you will never use anything else!

Over the decade or more that I've been stamping, I used many markers and IMO SU Markers are absolutely the best. They have great quality (I have a set that's 8 years old and another 2 years old - used all of the time and still in great shape). They really are better and matching colors is important to me too!

I love the SU! markers, personally. I bought the Marvy LePlumes when I first started stamping and they are nothing compared to the SU! ones. The SU! ones are expensive, but they are so worth it.

I love my SU markers! They are my favorite accessory and I use them all the time. I love that the colors coordinate and enthusiasticaslly recommend them to everyone.

I have not found anything that beats Tombow. I love them and you can get colors almost identical to SU. The problem I have with the SU markers is that the fine tip ends barely work much of the time. I depend on the fine tips on my Tombow so often. The SU ones are so teensy that colors like Blush Blue dont' even show on the paper. Also even though I store horizonatally the fine tips dry up very soon. Also Tombows can be so easily reinked. Just pull off the tip and drop in some SU reinker in the same color and you are good to go again! I also use Perfect Ink Refresher in them.

My DH bought me the entire SU Marker set for my birthday in 1995. I have only replaced 2 markers (last year) since then and they are in use EVERY time I stamp. I couldn't live without them. My Marvy's and LePlumes gave up a LONG time ago.

I use my markers MORE than I use my stamp pads or spots. I am always grabbing for a marker to color a stamp, color in a stamped image or to scribble on a stamp storage box to color an image with my aquapainter.

I LOVE SU's markers! I have also used Marvy and Zig, but my preference is definitely the SU markers for color matching and intensity. I haven't had any trouble with the fine tip of the marker, but am always fairly gentle with it and get great results. (Fine tip is super for touching up those pesky lines that may not have printed well from the stamp.)

I was advised to get SU markers and I've never regretted it! I still need EE...

I have some Le Plumes, some Tombow and 2 sets of the SU. The SU are the best! There are certain things you stamp where you color with the markers, they are a needed item in my opinion.

Then, there is coloring your stamped project with markers and a blender pen.

They have a lot of uses!

I agree. Was using LaPlume and then used SU markers at a club meeting. Absolutely better.

Can anyone find out who makes the markers for SU? It's got to be one of the few big ones (Zig, Marvy, Tombow, Impress) yet funny how everyone says they don't compare. I'd like to know "for sure" who makes them.

I did this too. The LePlumes dried out right away, which really made me mad! I ended up throwing them all away and purchasing SU markers, one by one, over time because I couldn't afford to get them at one time. It was the best thing I ever did, and I use them all the time. They are still going strong 6 years later!

I joined a marker club with 3 friends and got a family every other month until we had them all. My demo added a pkg. of coordinating paper and some neutral paper and we were at $150 each of the months. We then got to take turns being the hostess.
I love my markers, but I have kept some of my Zig markers as well. I use them for scrapbook journaling.
