Default Making wedding flowers out of paper?

Hi-

I was just wondering if anyone has ever made flowers for a wedding using paper? If yes, would you suggest some specific dies, or even tutorials that you have used.

Thanks, JC

I wonder if the Paper Flowers gallery might hold some ideas for you? There are a wide variety of dies and sets.

If you're wanting realistic-looking flowers, they're quite a bit of detailed work, but there are some beautiful tutorials out there. My favorite blogs to find floral inspiration are:

A Touch of Grace (Jerri uses Spellbinders dies)
Selma's Stamping Corner and Floral Designs (Selma uses mostly Sizzix dies, along with Heartfelt Creations)

I personally haven't, but I bought the Cricut Flowershop cartridge from a lady who did and I saw amazing pictures of her wedding. I have been making 3d flowers and a lady at work, her daughter's wedding is being planned (2 years from now why so long? who knows ) anyway, I've been helping her out by finding tutorials and making samples for her. I tell her how long it took me etc. I will probably help her organize a team of people (out of her friends and family) to make the flowers all together over a period of 2 days. I also think we may have to do it 2 weekends depending on how many people participate.

I would suggest the Flowershoppe cart from cricut, that with all the cool tutorials out there you'll find loads and loads on Pinterest. If you have a cricut or knows someone who does you can use the long mat and program it to cut while your starting them. You'll find tons too, that doesn't need any type of cartridge or device except scissors.

I hope that was helpful

Has anyone bought flowers online? I am familiar with Prima and Wild Orchid Crafts, but I swear there was a company from Thailand (maybe not?) that also made paper flowers..they were beautiful!

I've seen one Etsy shop all over Pinterest that makes paper wedding bouquets. You might want to check that out...

I haven't bought any online but I see them on ebay and Etsy all the time. I love making the flowers though. I'm actually a bit addicted to it. There is something satisfying with making my own supplies and I consider flowers part of my supplies.... my embellishments. I just love making them.

Thank you buggainok..... I will love looking at those tutorials too!!

I love Linda Duke's flowers. They are very soft looking. She has many tutorials.

I believe she has her stuff on Spltcoast but I cannot find it.

I know this is slightly off topic, but my project does have tons of flowers on it. I entered a contest sponsored by the company that makes my brand of cutting machine, the Zing (KNK USA). I didn't win, but I did make a life size, paper wedding cake. Here's a link to pictures of my entry: Challenge in Review | TeamKNKTeamKNK

If you know someone who has a Silhouette machine or other brand of cutter, or may thought about buying one for yourself, there are thousands of free cutting files on the internet. You could make them any size you need only limited by the size of cutting area of the machine.

We went to a wedding in Germany last winter and the bride made Japanese Kusudama Paper Flowers n black and white with a bit of red. I helped her make some parts and it wasn't that tough just time consuming. I can't find a photo of her bouquet or centerpieces but here is a link

My daughters and I made all the flowers for one of their weddings. Check out Post #16 in this thread for details. http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...y-t523566.html

An additional note, the paper we used for our poppies was Canson paper. A couple of years after the wedding, we still had all these huge bags of poppies stored, so my daughter donated them to a local nursing home for them to use to decorate their rec room.
