Default making bags

I've been asked to make some Christmas bags and need some help.
Those of you who have stamped the handled white bags ..... do you just stamp the front of the bag? Or do you also stamp the sides? Is there a trick to stamping (or rolling a wheel) to do the sides?
Thanks for you help and time!

Default Stamping Handled Gift Bags

Nancy, I am not the greatest one with the wheels and the bags but when I either wheel or stamp them I put a piece of cardboard inside the bag. I only stamp or wheel the front. You have to start on a scratch piece of paper with the wheel and put some pressure on the handle when wheeling. Stamping in my opinion is so much easier. Many times when I make my bags with the handles I use the wheel and than make a card out of a whole sheet of cs that goes ove the the handles. Now you have the bag and card in one. Carol

I have had such a hard time with the wheel getting over the bumps from the handles and looking good. It usually will ruin the bag in my opinion. I use the wheel as far up as I can go and then I do the same as Carol and make a collar/card that goes over the top. I don't have a scanner to show you but it is really easy. Let me know if you need more info about the collar/card part. (Even if I wheel the whole bag, the card covers the part I am never pleased with)

Hope this makes sense.

There are two different alternatives I use when rollering.

1. I too roller below the handles and down front and back. I use a CS collar just over the top so the non-rollered section is covered. I also look for a smaller matching motif stamp for the sides of the bag. I hold a large stamp in one hand (wooden surface to the bag) and use that has my solid surface to stamp the image onto the side-outer bag. I ALWAYS stamp the sides of bags this way. If I roll leaves onto the bag then I have a subtle leaf on the side.

2. If you want to roller around the bag, you can only do the middle section. Get a good size piece of paper for masking. Roll the front, open up the side section of the bag. Lay the mask/paper on what you just rolled to protect it. Line up the wheel with the prior stamped image and roll. Do the back and next side accordingly. The actual wheel images don't line up, but to to eye the wheel stripe goes around the bag.

PM me if #2 seems confusing.
