Make a Card for a Virginia Tech family
I hope it is OK with everyone for me to post this here. My husband and I just found out that one of the students killed at Virginia Tech was the adopted daughter of a co-worker of his. Her name was Nicole White and she was a junior in International Studies and German. Pehaps as you create your cards for this week's challenges, you might make one for the White family. Cards can be mailed to:
Mr. and Mrs. Mike White
11065 Park Place
Smithfield, Virginia 23430
If you want to contribute something to help other families and the surviving students, please see the link below in my signature.
Also, see the ribbons I'm making for Friday's National day of Mourning. I'm going to pass them out to people who don't have Tech colors to wear.

Thank you so much for all of you that are sending cards. I thought the worst of it was over for us yesterday, and then we got this news this morning. We haven't seen the family in several years, but I know they are going to take this very hard, as are all of the parents. If I get any more addresses, I'll be sure to pass them along. I knew my stampin' family would jump in to help

When I woke up this morning to scenes of this tragedy on TV, I thought to myself that I would make a "thinking of you" card today with those folks in mind... Now my card can actually be mailed and hopefully show some support to these parents who lost their child.

Where can we get a complete list of names of the victims? There is only a partial one in my paper today, as it doesn't have Nicole Smith listed.

Cindy, my sister lives in Blacksburg, she and her dh are Hokies. My firm, Deloitte & Touche, is having a special "jeans day" -- we all get to wear jeans IF we pay $5, which goes to some charity. I wish we were doing it Friday when we're all supposed to wear Tech colors anyway, but we're doing it the 27th, proceeds will go to the Memorial Fund.

Cindy, I've sent Em an email suggesting Hokie colors next week for the color challenge -- can you be specific as to which colors she could use? Mary

White family
I would be honored to make a card for them. I'll mail it out this weekend with the other ones I'm making to go to the families.

So sad - there are 3 from NJ, and one from just over the border in NY state. I was thinking I'd like to send their families cards too.
My prayers go out to the White family. I'll try to get a card done tonight.
I was thinking on the way home how nice it would be to get a bunch of cards made up and sent to VT so that the surviving kids would know that we are all thinking about them.

See foxnews.com which has a listing with a paragraph on each one - I'm not sure the list is complete yet. But you can read about Nicole White there.
I'll be sending a card.

The official university school colors are Chicago Maroon and Burnt Orange (from the VA Tech website). Our closest match is Bravo Burgundy and Pumpkin Pie.
