Mailing 3x3 cards?

So, I'm making a version of this adorable birth announcment by "Pastreee" and the size is 3x3. What is the best way to mail them out? Are there 3x3 envelopes? Are they extra postage? Would you just put them in a larger square envelope? TIA

The 3x3 envelops are too small to be mailed. You would need to put it in a larger envelope.

From the USPS website:

Quote:

To be eligible for mailing at the postage rates for letters, a piece must be:
  • Rectangular
  • At least 3- inches high x 5 inches long x .007 inch thick.
  • No more than 6-1/8 inches high x 11- inches long x 1/4 inch thick.
First-Class Mail that weighs 1 ounce or less, depending on the shape, may be subject to the nonmachinable surcharge. Customers can be unpleasantly surprised that they must pay extra postage when, for example, they mail a square greeting card. The Postal Service charges extra postage because mailpieces that are too stiff, too square, or unusually shaped often jam postal equipment and are difficult to process. This costs the Postal Service time and moneyand may ruin your mailpiece.

I would probably mail it in the same sized envelope you mail "standard" sized cards in. HTH!

I agree... especially since mailing a larger square envelope will cost extra.

You might create a cute little envelope for your card and then place it inside of a standard card envelope. This would give it less of a lost feeling/look, besides adding a special touch.

Hoping this helps.
