Mailing 12x12 papers

Best way to send within the US---(class of postage) and where can I buy padded mailers close to that size? Asking before I add items to the Pay It Forward thread.
Thanks in advance.

Deb, I would cut the 12 x 12 to 6" x 12" or 6" x 6" and mail in smaller manilla envelopes. 6 x 12 will fit in a 10 x 13 easily. I don't scrapbook so smaller sizes work for cards. I have mailed 12 x 12 by wedging between two sheets of cardboard and using package sealing tape around all the edges, but since postage has gone up the past 2-3 years I would consider cutting it down. Most of the postage costs on 12x12 is due to the bulky size not the weight.
That's just my opinion and 2 cents worth.

Thanks Arlene--my preference was to cut into smaller, so maybe I'll word my posting so anyone who really wants the 12x12 can let me know that. I appreciate your input.

For large Manila envelopes, such as 10 x 13, the rate is $1.00 for first ounce plus 20 cents per ounce thereafter up to a maximum of 13 ounces. Weight above 13 ounces is considered a package, so just under $5.00 if you use pirate ship or a similar online service, or closer to between $6.50 and $7.00 if you take it to your local post office for mailing. Zip code affects price. There are also cardboard mailers available for 12 x 12 papers, calendars, lp albums, etc. which would ship via package rates.

No success finding cardboard mailers for 12x12 at Staples, Office Max, or Walmart--other suggestions?

Uline has it in bulk. But I see some stuff on amazon if you ask for 13 x 13 mailer in much smaller quantities.

I like the 6 x 12 idea. Leaves them with flexibility for 5 x 7 or slimlines.

Amazon has cardboard mailers for 12 x 12 size.

I sent out a box of 12x12 paper a few years back, but it was a large amount and heavy. I sent it UPS, and it was over forty bucks. I was destashing scrapbook paper, and the designs were such, that it couldn't be cut up (only good for scrapbooking). I really wanted them to have the paper though, as I knew they would really like it. But I can't mail anything that big anymore.
I like the idea of either cutting it up to 6x6 or sizes large enough for a 5x7. I think you should do what suits you best. I'm sure they will like it no matter what size you make it. So kind that you are putting thought and preparation into how you'd like to share it.

Check ebay for rigid mailers - some sellers will allow you to buy just one or a small quantity instead of a large pack.
