Default Ribbon Bits

I came up with a way to use up the tiny ribbon ends that always seem left over from bow-making. If you're like me and don't like to waste anything, you'll probably like this trick.
I may not be the first to do with this, but it's new to me. LOL!
Check it out:

Finally I get to use up all this bits of ribbon I have been hoarding. I even have a special jar they go in - how sad is that?

This is a fabulous idea new to me too) - thanks so much for sharing!

Great idea. Did you punch through the ribbon first or just kinda smush the brad through?

I opened up the brad, pinched the ribbons together, and closed the brad around the middle of the ribbons, then I just pierced the CS and pushed the brad through, securing it on the back.

I've also seen some cards that have a ribbon loop (style of the breast cancer ribbon) peeking out from under a layer.

Agreed! Super cute card and a wonderul idea! I have tons of little scraps of ribbons = not quite enough for an entire ribbon, but enough leftovers to make something like this. TFS - it's perfect!:-D

How cute to mimic a bow with them! I use my ends as tabs or loops sticking out from the edge of a layer. Well, I "save" them to use for that purpose...I don't always get around to actually "using" them!

Thanks for explaining how you attached the brad and ribbons. I looked at your oh-so-cute card and was wondering how you did it. TFS, both the card and the idea for using leftover ribbon.

Here's another idea (totally not mine--I saw it in some magazine a while back): Keep a clear glass Christmas ornament on your desk or somewhere handy and stick the ribbon bits in it. when it's full, put the topper back on, tie another ribbon to it (start a new ornament with its ends) and you have a really cute Christmas ornament! I have a couple of them now and love "remembering" all the cards I made with that ribbon!

I love it! I have a custard cup on my stamping table FULL of such scraps, and when that's full, they go into a Ziploc bag in a drawer - I can't bear to throw away ribbon, and I hate measuring even slightly too short and not being able to tie it decently!!
