Crooked crimper

Why is it that everytime I crimp it comes out crooked and the lines end up at an angle. This drives me nuts. I have had this problem forever. I line it up even to start but when I get to the other side - Argh- every time it is off. Maybe I need to try a new one.

Mine does this when I squeeze it too tight... Try loosening your grip and see if it's better.

are you doing it fast? I think I had read somewhere a while back about doing it slowly.

I have this same problem, so frustrating. I don't go fast but I will try loosening my grip a little.

You can also try putting your paper in a little crooked, but in the opposite direction, and hopefully, it will come out straight. Might work...

But wouldn't you have the same problem just on a different side? Because I start off straight but it's angled when I get to the end and if I stuck it in at an angle at the beginning then the first part of my c/s would be crooked. :confused:

Ok, now I see what the problem is with your crimper. You're not getting even pressure so its slipping on one side. I'm not sure how you could work around that. If its a Fiskars' crimper, you can just email them a picture of the crimper and a picture of what the finished crimped paper looks like and they may just replace it. They are really good at making sure you're happy with their products.

I gave up and just started using the crooked crimps telling myself it was "artistic"!
