Smile Composition Journals?

Okay, I've been looking and the 'remade' composition journals and bought one at the $1 store during lunch. But, how do you cover it? Is it just cardstock glued on? If you put too many layers on doesn't that make it bulky? I've been looking hard, but they must be so easy there aren't directions. But, I like directions! Anyone? Thanks!

These are two journals that I made...I used scrapbook paper, which is much easier to fold than cardstock and I used only a little cardstock to cover what was left. The color you see on the binding is the way the journal came. I just used mono adhesive and then used ribbon to cover the seams.

HTH!! Good luck!

So, if using scrapbook paper do you fold over the rounded corners on the right hand side? Then maybe put a piece of paper on the inside cover to make it look attractive? Or do you just cut around the paper according to the shape of the journal?

I folded over all paper on the right hand side and taped it down to the inside..once I had the ribbon and all the construction done, I measured and cut a pice of matching cs to cover everything on the inside cover. This also helps it look more "finished".

I used cardstock for mine. I adhered the cardstock and the tags with scotch brand double sided tape. The flowers & butterflies I adhered with crystal effects. I left about 1/2 inch of the black binding showing, and rounded the corners to mirror the notebook corners.

Okay, let's try this again!! ARRGGGHHH!! My post I just typed disappeared, so I really hope this one doesn't! The ones I made for the swap we forgot to take pictures of.:( I wish we would have thought of that before the prizes were given away, but I guess they will all be originals. These are ones I made for some friends as gifts.

I used SU cardstock and don't think they're too bulky. I just attached it with Mono Adhesive. They're lots of fun to do!
