Default Stamping on Avery Labels

Does it matter if I stamp on Avery labels for a laser printer or ink-jet printer?
Also, does it matter what type of ink I use? Does it need to be StazOn?

Thanks!
Leah

Before I got my slit punch, I used the little circle labels for closing up Valentines...I used the regular classic ink and used the markers to color in the hearts that I had stamped.

You may want to stamp a sample just to see if it dries right away or reacts the way you want it too...but I wouldn't think you should have any problems.

Good luck and hope to see a picture of your project!

Default Labels

I have alway used my regular dye ink on the avery labels and I have not ever had a problem with.
I also have use colorbox chalk ink on them as well and never ran into any problems. ( chalk ink I let dry overnight first)

I have a few card in my Picturetrail album that has that tech used on them.

I am not sure which album has them in it But I do know that they are in one of my "The Angel Company" albums.

Click on the link below to see them........

http://picturetrail.com/stampingjean It's in Album #2 Leave card....I used the smaller size labels for it.

Hope this helps?

I'm glad to know I can use any ink as that gives me more color options.

What about the type of label - laser or ink yet? Does it matter which I use?

I've always used the ink jet labels without any problem.

Makes sense to me -- stamping is more similar to the way an inkjet printer applies ink to paper.

Leah... I've stamped on the sticky-backed nametags using Classic inks. I'm not 100% sure if I used the ink jet kind or the regular kind, but I'm thinkin I've used both without a problem. I may have some extras of both kinds (the kind that come on 8 1/2 x 11 sheets and the kind that come pre-cut in the little box) if you want to experiment... I know you're probably looking to use the little labels and not the nametag size, but it might help you decide which kind to use. Let me know. (I do know that the pens I made for our retreat were stamped with Classic on the ink-jet compatable nametags... I only used those because the kind that come in the box had the yucky border on around the edges!)

I just looked at my labels, they say for ink jet or laser, or Laser/Ink Jet if you want to be picky. The reason some are LASER is only for heat purpose. A label that can only go through an Ink Jet can melt and jam a laser printer or the heat can make the labels pull up off the backing. Either will work for stamping.

Yes, either should work. I've used the laser version with no problems.

I find that they ink-jet labels are very fast to dry and they don't "bleed" any ink outside of the image. I've also watercolored on the ink-jet labels with great success (Aquapainter). ~ K

Wow! THanks for all of the feedback! I think I will see which label type is cheaper.
