Smile Looking for Ideas for X-mas

I was looking for x-mas littles to give. I guess it would be considered anything but a card. I looked in the gallery but didn't find very much
Would love to see what is going on this x-mas for ideas.

I'm not sure how little is little. If you live close to Lowe's or Home Depot, the tile coasters are great. I found them for under $1 per piece and stamped with Stazon. Heat set them in the oven at 250 for 15 minutes and they are standing the test of time.

How about memo cubes and a cute pen that you can make with microbeads? Everyone can use memo cubes for something.

My Secret Sister just did the dominoes and they are so darling! She said she got them very cheaply and they came in a big bag. I know that Michaels had them at one time. Also, you can get them in Walmart in the game aisle.

How about the vellum surrounds for candles. You can buy the glass candle holders at a dollar store and do the vellum surrounds around themand they are very pretty. You could do journals and alter the fronts and backs....

I know there are some very talented ladies here who can recommend many things. Just keep track of this thread!

I have seen some cute things with clear ornaments here....one using metallic paints swirled around the inside and the other using the stamped transparency insert. I think I found them just searching the word "ornamets". HTH!!

The gallery ALWAYS bails me out when I'm desperate for a cute little gift idea to stamp, so you surprised me!

Is there something particular you are looking for? Jewelry items? Stationary? Decor (candles)? Ornaments? Food gifts?

Mebbe if we know a little more what you're looking for, we can point ya' at the right gallery!

I have made some altered composition books this past week and they are easy and fun to do. I am planning on doing the little mini comp books for my group of close friends for Christmas. I am just covering each with patterned paper and either stamping a small panel for the front of each or using those little pewter initials that are either round or square for each person. I think it is a good size to keep in your purse for something to write things down on when you need to. Not that they will use them for journaling - but it could be an address book, phone book, list of stuff to do, groceries to buy...I have one now and it replaced all the zillions of scraps of papers with lists on them that used to float around in my purse for months...Two of my comp books are in my gallery if you want to see. I coated the paper finally with Royal Coat or Mod Podge to make them stay cleaner longer. Good luck!

A package of assorted cards is also a nice gift. If you take 5 or 6 thank you notes or something and tie a pretty ribbon around it, it makes a nice gift. I do this as hostess gifts all the time.

What about decorating SU's "on board bitty books" and decorate them with designer paper? That's what I plan to give as gifts this Christmas. Search on SCS - there are a number of cute covered books. You can fill them with photos or leave them blank to let the recipient use them with their own personal photos.

oh I forgot! I love love love those little bandaid tins - I've seen them for about $1.99 each if I remember right. I'm going to make some of those and fill with a variety of things.... but they are small enough to fill that it won't break the bank!

I bought 7" paper mache boxes at Michaels. I am planning to decorate them and then fill them with christmas goodies, and everyone is getting the same thing, lol. But I will decorate the boxes differently.

I found some little photo albums at our Dollar General store for a buck each. They are clear vinyl and have a removable patterned cover. (similar to the pocket calendars) I'm going to pop out the preprinted covers and replace them with my own stamped/designer paper/embellished ones. I thought they would be sweet for grandma/mummy brag books. They're the perfect size to pop in your purse.

HTH,
Marcy

I'm planning on adding an ornament type thing to go with the cards this year. Since I've got the Wishblade it is dead simple for me to make a master template, cut it out, stamp on the parts which needs to get stamped on and then assemble it all when the card is done.

Stamping on wood is really fun! I have directions if you want to PM me. I make ornaments: http://ph.groups.yahoo.com/group/Sta.../view/868a?b=2
You whitewash/seal the pine first (so it doesnt absorb your color), then stamp using colorbox and clear EP....then color with acrylics or tombow pens...watercolors...whatever. Seal with sealant. Very cool, and inexpensive.
I have also seen some beautiful things done with stamping on velvet.. I believe the instructions are here in the SCS database somewhere....
And...of course stamped seasonal pins are adorable... and magnets...both can be part of a "card" so its like giving a small gift without going overboard so the recipient feels they need to give something back. I do this for my kids teachers.... There are also tons of gifts you can do that are "mix in a jar" type recipes, and after you make the cute jar, you can stamp up adorable gift tags with the instructions!! Just tie the instructions to the jar and include a cute wooden spoon....

Something very small that I just made (2 Dozen of 'em), is decorated bottle caps. I stamped on cs, used a circle punch, then coloured and decorated with Stickles, then used E600 to put a pin on the back. A bit of work but fun and cute. I will post in my gallery--tomorrow, 'cause it is Sunday here and NO uploads on Sunday

I am making lunch tins, with dividers. I will put some cards in there. On the inside of the tins I am putting a little flap and adding a beaded pen with address labels and postal stamps.
