I am making some tumbled marble coasters that I want to put cork on for the backing. What adhesive should I use? I was thinking of using E6000, but it smells so much even after it is dry, that I don't want to use it. Any suggestions?
This is such a timely question as my Stampin' Brunch Bunch class will be making a tumbled tile project this month. I use Alene's white glue on mine. HERE is a tile that I made a few years ago. We use them every day with our coffee in the morning and none of the corks have fallen off. You do need to use quite a bit of glue. I just started at the top and drew squiggles all the way down and then placed the cork (which I purchased at IKEA - and these fit perfectly on the bottom of the tile) on top and let it dry. Hope this helps.

I wouldn't use a water soluble glue if you plan on using the coasters with an icy drink, as they do get pretty damp from the condensation which would soften your glue.
I got sheets of self adhesive cork, I think at Home Depot, when I made mine. It's been about three years on one set and it's still sticking!
I usually use the little round self adhesive cork disks from home depot and lowes but bought all that lowes had and it wasn't enough. Went to home depot and they no longer carry the little round cork disks so I bought the a roll of self adhesive cork sheets. Did you cover the whole bottom of yours or just 4 squares for ea corner??

I have made & sold tons of coasters using marble tiles. For my backing I use cork self adhesive shelf paper from Lowe's - have looked for the same thing at Home Depot with not luck. The shelf paper I buy at Lowe's is enough to back about 35 four by four marble tiles.

This is what I bought last week and tried it. It does work great! I put a little square in each corner and let them sit for a day and tried to pick one off and it didn't budge from the coaster!
