Default long shot question about stamping mags

a while ago (maybe even a year ago), there was an article in a stamping mag that showed how to create a wheel card. there was a window punched out of the front, a notch punched out of the side, and a wheel that was cut with specialty scissors so you could spin the wheel and see different pictures/messages through the window. i almost think it was juliehrr who wrote the article - but i could be imagining that. in any case, does anyone remember which magazine, or in what the general time frame it was published?

thanks.

I think you are right, it was Julie's card.

I'm almost positive it was PaperCrafts.

Wordsworth (?) that makes card templates in funny shapes has a template to make a spinner card.

I think it was the Feb. issue of Papercrafts---I'm pretty sure Julie's card was a valentine's card. Maybe she could tell you more!

It's the Feb 2005 Papercrafts issue, p 44.
To assemble:
  • Make card from white cs. Punch half circle notch in front edge
  • To make front panel, cut another piece of cs to fit card front. Punch half circle notch in front edge, aligned with notch on card.
  • To make wheel, cut 4" circle from white cs and trim with decorative edge scissors. Pierce center of circle with needle tool.
  • Align wheel on panel so circle edge protrudes from notch. Mark wheel's hole on panel with pencil.
  • Pierce hole through panel as marked, using needle tool. To make window, punch circle above pierced hole.
  • Attach wheel behind panel with brad. Note: spin wheel by running finger along edge of wheel that protrudes from notch.
To decorate:
  • stamp image on wheel through window in panel. Rotate wheel and stamp another image. Repeat until images fill window upon each rotation.
  • appy adhesive to edges of panel and adhere to card. Note: apply adhesive to edges only. Otherwise, wheel won't turn.
  • Embellish as desired.

Talking Wheel Stamps

By the way, you can get funny (cartoon style) stamps for wheel cards at De Stempelmakers. Stamp company is based in the Netherlands. I seem to be having some trouble with their website tonight, but here is a link to the Wheel Card stamps.
