Background: My niece is getting married in a few months. Her dad has been out of her life since she was a little girl - so her plan was always to have my dad (her pap) walk her down the aisle....they were very close. Well, my dad died last year so my nephew will be walking with her.
I bought her a little picture charm (dad's picture is now in it) for her to put on her bouquet. I want to give it to her at her shower. I need something to put with it to explain what it is for. I thought those (picture charms) were popular now - that is what gave me the idea to buy one. But my sister didn't know about them. And I had to explain it to her.
Here is what I have in mind:
A little box, when she opens the box there is a little note on top that she would read...then the charm would be further inside the box. Make sense?
I really don't know what to write on the note! I don't want to just write "this is for you to put on your bouquet" - seems like I need more......
ANY suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!!

WOW!! This is great!! My niece is getting married in September and I want to do the same thing with my dad's picture. Where can we get the charm? Thanks!!
I got the charm at Things Remembered. It is oval and surrounded by clear gems. I tried taking a picture of it but when I get close it gets blurry....and if it isn't blurry then it is too small in the picture!
Lovely poem. My concern on putting it on the bouquet that it will be forgotten in the festivities and lost when the bouquet is tossed. What about a small charm bracelet?
*sniff sniff* thanks for the lovely story, poem and ideas. I'm going to do something like this with a picture of my aunt as I walk in July for her. Thanks for letting me take the idea and run with it :-)
now I need a tissue.

Thanks for pointing that out....I will make sure I remind them to remove it after the ceremony. Both my daughters are in the wedding. I don't think my niece would want to toss her beloved Pap's picture with her bouquet.
I must once again thank you (mtgchic)for your wording suggestion. I have not wanted to try and come up with something (even though I knew I needed to) because just thinking about it makes me cry. I so wish I didn't need to buy this charm and that he was here and could walk her down the aisle.
Stampin' Up sells Simply Adorned Charms that you can put a photo in. They also sell chains and bracelets that the charm could go on after. The Canadian price for the charms are $12.95 so the US price would be less.

Double check with her that she doesn't have two bouquets. A throwing bouquet is common these days. That way, you're not throwing your real one.
