Question Basic Gray notch and die tool?

Does anyone else have this tool? I got it a month or so ago, and have not really figured out how to use it. It came with a great sheet on the back with ideas for types of cuts with it, but nothing telling me how to do them. I guess I am the type of person who needs intstructions. LOL

Yes, I have it and used it for the 2nd time today. All I do is pick the cut I want, place my card or paper on a cutting board, locate where I want the cut, and press with the cutter. It very easily went through the paper and made a slot to run ribbon through.

How does one use the notch tool to make a notch on either side of a matted item? (how do I explain?) Um, Say I had a stamped image that I matted and wanted to attach to a card front and wanted the rounded flap to hold the matted object on the left and right sides of the image...I have no problem making the first notch but I really can't seem to figure out the secret to having an even and properly spaced notch on the other side.

Any tips?

As far as I can figure out, you lay down your piece and draw a light pencil line were you want it to be then put the back of the tool on the line (so the round part is toward the inside of your piece, then cut. It should slide right in. Does that make sense???

I also have this tool. Honestly though, I have used it once and am finding a hard time getting ideas/uses for this tool. Hoping I will start using it a lot more in the future though

You can make large photo corners (check out serikastamper's gallery), or scalloped paper, or lacing tabs, or sun rays.... You can go to a scrapping website and check out their gallery, search for notch tool.
