I need to make table favors for Thanksgiving and need to buy a set of stamps to make them. Should I get Thanksgiving Blessings from the Hoiday Mini or Fall Whimsey and wheel from the catalog? AND... any ideas on what to make for individual table favors/or name cards, etc. for Thanksgiving? I'm still looking on the gallery for some ideas, but thought I'd go right to source!
Thanks so much,
I'm not a big fan of any of those stamps, but I think the smaller images in Fall Whimsy would lend themselves better to making place cards or table favors and you'd be able to finish them more quickly since the images don't really need any detailed coloring. If you found yourself really pressed for time, the wheel would make things a snap because all you'd have to do is snap in a cartridge and wheel a little border across the bottom of a tent card -- add the person's name by hand with a marker and you could have a finished place card in less than a minute! Also, since there are separate leaf stamps, it gives you more options for making all-occasion cards during the rest of the year.

Fall Whimsey it is! You've convinced me! Now what to make? I love the idea of wheeling a name card. I'm thinking of a 2,4,6,8, box perhaps -filled with mints? And napkin rings like in the October Stampin Success. I need to mass produce them. Any other ideas I should consider?
Thanks so much,
Last year I had to make 50 of these things for Thanksgiving. We called them "Blessing Mixes". They took a little time, but all in all, they were very easy and everyone loved them. I used Little Layers II for mine. Let me know if you need any help. I got the idea out of Paper Crafts Magazine. It was a HUGE hit with my family. I even did this as a church youth project and they loved it too. Several of them did it for their Thanksgiving Dinner Tables.
There is a poem that goes with it too, let me know if you want it, I'll try and find it!
Good Luck and make sure you post a picture after you finish your project, whatever it is!
Like everyone said. Thanksgiving isn't my style and you can only do one thing with that stamp. Fall Whimsy you can do so much with. When I get stamps that what I look for even if its just for two things. HAHA then its justifiable to buy. Have fun
I guess I will have to be the odd ball and vote for Thanksgiving Blessing ;) I really like this set I am getting ready to order it myself. I am going to use the basket of fruit and veggies for my cards this year. Unfortunately, I will not be hosting Thanksgiving at my house this year since the packers will be here around that time, but next year I am going to use the stamp with pears and grapes to make place setting at the table.
You could use the wheel to decorate some neutral cardstock and make sour cream containers. That would be quick and easy. My friend did that last year and then added a tag to each one with our name on it.
While Thanksgiving Blessings is a beautiful set, I see it more for cards then place settings. I have Fall Whimsy and I LOVE it! The pumpkin is perfect for Halloween as well as Thanksgiving and the leaves are so versitile! I don't think you can go wrong with Fall Whimsy.
