Default Layer ease

has it been discontinued? If so, does anyone else carry it? Thanks.

It is also marketed under the name "Magic Matter", and typically available at many scrapbook/stamp stores, as well as e-tailers. Just put out a "google" for that as your key word.

Wait! Have you tried the perfect layers system? I never used the other, but this seems much more versatile. SU carries for 22.95

Default Perfect layers

I have the perfect layers and love it.....well, most of the time, but, you can only use it for squares, rectangles, maybe triangles.

Default Thanks Julie

I did a Google search and Wilde Ideas has the Magic Matter. It only has three discs and from what I can tell....you have to draw your line with a pencil, then cut it out seperately. Am I just confused? I thought the layer ease cut as you drew.

The difference between Perfect Layers and Layer Ease, is that perfect Layers only works with straight angles, and Layer Ease can be used on curves and other odd-shaped items, such as daisies.

I always thought it cut too, but then I saw a demo of it and nope, you draw the line and cut it yourself.

I'm not enough of a perfectionist to buy this rather than eyeballing, but I imagine that even having to cut it yourself a lot of people love that you can make odd shaped mats with it.

I wonder if you could stick a craft knife in instead of a pencil, and cut as you go along? That probably wouldn't work.

Sorry--missed that.

Yup. Takes two steps to use this tool; trace, THEN cut.

I bought another version they did with it, called the Quick Cutter, which supposedly cuts as you trace. I was not satisified with using it, after many botched and repeated attempts and practicing. A LOT of practicing.
