Default Cleaning my Brayer

OK so I finally mastered Joseph's Coat technique but now my brayer is permanently stained black! Does anyone have any tips on how to clean it?

Thanks!

I'm curious too. Seems like I clean my brayer really well, but then when I go to use it next (especially on my yo yo yellow pad), it's obviously dirty. My brayer's stained purple, but it doesn't bother me. Just wish I could get a good cleaning, so I didn't have to worry about staining my pads next time I go to use it.

This might not be the reply you were looking for, but after I used my brayer with black ink, I went out and bought another brayer (used a coupon!) that I save for lighter colors. I cleaned it using baby wipes, soap and water, then alcohol. It did take off a lot of the black, but then I tested it on a non-SU yellow inkpad and it didn't really mess up the inkpad, but when I brayered my cardstock with the yellow ink, there were some little black flecks and it looked dingy!

So now I'm happy to have a brayer I know won't contaminate my lighter colors!

i read somewhere here that a yoyo yellow pad cleans black ink off of rubber - i would purchase a separate pad for "cleaning" the ink - anyone else remember this?

I laughed out loud when I read that you had stained yours with Lovely As A Tree because initially my brayer had the row of trees permanently impressed on the rubber. I laughed every time I used it and decided that I wouldn't be able to do mirrored images with it anymore but now I seem to have a greater problem with it being black. I guess I will have to buy another one that will be devoted to light colours only. Geesh...ya live ya learn.

I, too, have 2 brayers. One is for black and darker colors and one is for lighter colors. I'm fanatical about cleaning the one for the lighter colors but I have to admit, the other one gets ignored!

I clean mine with the Stampin' Mist and then baby wipes. It keeps it pretty clean. The other one is stained beyond hope.

mine is permanently black too. I started using window sheets to make mirror images, then I use that for a card also! (Sorry I got away from the thread topic a little)

You mean that you can use the window sheets to do mirror images? I have never tried it! I was thinking I'd have to buy "Great Shapes" to do mirrored images. Hmmmm....this is good to know. How exactly do you do it?

Default using window sheets for mirror

All you do is stamp the window sheet and carefully place it stampside down below your stamped image. Rub over the sheet and lift. It can smear, but if it's a water reflection, all the better! Hope this helps.
