Default K/F Snap Stamps - breaking??

I will be shocked if I find out I am the ONLY one that this is happening to. Are any of your Snap Stamps Breaking? (see picture)

My first set of 1/4", Karen Foster Snap Stamps came to me from KT Crafts packaged in a slightly padded brown package envelope. Before I even opened the set, I saw that my 'x' had a part of the plastic piece broken off.... I thought.... "no huge deal, it's not worth sending them back. I can work around this." I thought it strange that I didn't see the piece in the package, but I glued the rubber right in the holder with our ever magical "Crystal Effects" anyway. (btw, this leads me to believe someone returned that set, and I received the damaged set!)

Since then, I have had another letter in my 1/4" set break in the same spot, and TWO in my 1/8" set.

I am VERY gentle with my stamps, and I keep all three of my sets in a sturdy box on a shelf all to themselves. I don't have little kids getting into them, and I am the only one to use them, and even at that, just a few times so far!!

Anyone else???

I have used mine a lot and so far, so good. I would call the company and ask for an exchange.

One of mine was broken when I opened the package, but the piece was in the package so I just glued it back on. I haven't had any trouble with any of the others breaking, though!

I have used my 1/8 set a lot and haven't had a problem with breaking. I would contact the company about exchanging them.

The rubber part of 2 of mine came off and i just glued them back in place with a little CE. This happened because the plastice edge broke off, just like in your picture but they have worked fine since I glued them. I havent used them very much so I don't know how long my fix will work.

I haven't had any problems with mine either. Now I will be extra careful with them though!

Haven't had any problems with mine breaking but now that you've posted this, I'll make sure to be careful with them. Thanks for the heads up.

so far mine are fine - whew! it is strange that yours has such a clean break - at least from what I can see in the photo...I would contact them if you find that it bothers you and others that you have are doing the same...I worry sometimes that I am going to snap the "snaps" when I am trying to put the letters together - the plastic does seem pretty fragile...good luck with whatever you decide...

**this may be general knowledge, or maybe not!, but the rubber does come out (is designed to come out) so you can stamp a phrase and leave spaces between the words you have linked together...maybe I'm stating the obvious, but just thought I would share that little tidbit!!

I've placed 3 orders with KT Crafts and can't say enough about their wonderful customer service. If you are having problems with something you orderd, you should send Kelly an email. I find her WONDERFUL and I'm sure she will help you out.

I just got 6 sets last week, from JoAnns. I didn't even open the 1/2 inch size yet. So I'll have to go check on those. As for the other 4 sets they were okay ...so far. I'll be really really bummed if any break because I spent $47.00 on them, and I love them. I think you need to contact the manufacturer, so they replace them and to make them aware of the problem. It seems to be a design issue. Please let us know what the company has to say.

I had 1 break the other day and I don't know how it happened. I couldn't find the broken piece and just glued it like you did. I hope it holds.

Yes, I had one break when I was cleaning it. I guess I applied too much pressure. I'm being more careful now!

I bought mine from KT Crafts. I had one of them break, but I did as others have said and just glued the rubber onto the plastic. Kelly is great to do business with, but I don't think I'll bother her with this unless they all start breaking.

no breakage here and I have all sizes in the formal and casual - and I've used them a lot.

I bought three sets from Joanns.com. They were shipped in a box. My "x" from the 1/4 " casual set was broken exactly like your's. I wonder if it has to do with the way they're packaged at the factory. I just glued mine on because I thought it would be less trouble than sending it back or calling.

I bought mine from Joann's and they arrived with 4 of those little plastic tabs broken off. I called Joann's and they just resent another package and told me to do whatever I wish with the package I got. I glued the plastic back in place so now I have 2 sets. I haven't had a problem since.

Well... first of all, thanks to everyone for your input....

I agree.... not worth sending the set back. I can work with the glued letters. I am just a bit bummed that I keep coming up with more broken as I use them. I wanted to see if anyone else was having the same thing happen with their letters.

I believe that that piece of plastic is SO tiny (in the 1/8" & 1/4" sets) that if it gets a good 'whack' anytime during packing, shipping, or everyday use will distress it enough to break it eventually.

These sets are almost the neatest thing since sliced bread.... I am NOT complaining. PLUS.... the price was RIGHT! WOW! Who could complain!!?

HAPPY STAMPIN', ya'll!!

I had one of mine break too. I have the 1/8th inch size. I couldn't find the rubber piece. I haven't done anything about it yet.
