Maybe.... I'm in an ATC group and our theme for Dec. is holidays/Christmas. 1 of the ladies is Jewish so I was going to make her one that is not Christmas... The ATC's that I'm making are gingerbread men. They don't say anthing about Christmas. Can I use that for her too or should I make one with a menorah or other Jewish image? Can someone help me out with a stamped image? I'll send you a SASE if needed. Thanks!
Hi Kristi! I remember you were thinking about become a TAC demo--did you? If you did go with TAC, go on WeBeAngels and see if anyone as the discontinued Jewish sets. Maybe someone there can help you out. I don't have them, sorry.

IMHO, as long as your Gingerbread one doesn't say anything about Christmas, I think you're good to go! Gingerbread isn't a Christian food, it's a 'holiday' food. I'd go with that!
I have Stampin' Up! Hebrew Holidays, if you'd like a stamped image of the menorah just PM me your address.
Gingerbread is a Christmas-y type of cookie....so IMO it wouldn't be offensive but it would be sort of like sending a stamped matzo on Christmas cards LOL
Art is intended to provoke an emotion from a total stranger. If youve succeeded in this, consider yourself an artist. Paper Shanks Blog. Love me or hate me, you are still talking about me
The ginger man is a cookie, the colors you use in the card will make it a Christmas cookie or not. If you don't use any red or green, it will be a Christmas cookie, it you use other colors purple and yellow, blue and white it will be a cookie. Just my 2 cents.
I've seen lots of non Christmas images make into christmas cards using color. You can also use Christmas stamps in other colors and they will still be Christmas cards.
I also would be happy to send you multiple Judaica stamped images to choose from. PM me with your address and I'll mail you some. I will not be back in town until next Sunday so it would be the week following that before I could get them out to you.

Yes, it IS a cookie, just as a matzoh is a CRACKER. I was saying that traditionally it is a Christmas cookie, just as a matzoh is a cracker typically eaten by Jews during passover. So it would not work.
If I took a snow covered tree with twinkling lights and put it on a blue card does it look less Christmas-y? No. A gingerbread cookie is a cookie typically associated with Christmas. Which is why it you can also find it in SU's A Merry Little Christmas set.
Please don't minimize the differences in religions, it's ok that they are not the same, they don't have to be. But to pretend that sending images with a Christmas tone to a Jew is OK is offensive.
I tell you this because my husband and I have spent years balancing his religion (Jewish) and mine (Catholic) so I am not giving this advice for any reason other than I don't want anyone to look ignorant or intolerant by sending a Christmas card to a Jew.
WOW... I didn't know this post was still going on. I thought I had posted that I got some images. It disappeared somehow. I don't want anyone thinking I was offending any religions by suggesting the gingerbread in place of anything else. I was simply asking a question and trust me... I got a lot of responses in my email... both for the gingerbread and against. Thanks for the replies.
